Over mij

Me, Myself, and I
I'm nothing you can't have

I never thought of running
My feet just led the way

I Don't want you to forgive me

You'll follow me down....

I play guitar in a band called "Black Star" which takes up most of my time. But it doesn't get much better than making music with your best friends, so its cool. Check it out, leave a comment. The songs mean a lot to us, hope you like them. We are also on myspace @ www.myspace.com/losthighwayireland

There are nights I don't remember and pain that's been forgotten and a lot of things I choose not to recall. There are faces that come to me in my darkest, secret memories, faces that I wish would not come back at all. I'm like a soldier getting over the war.....

  • Stolen Hammer Tour comes to a close

Right, well I guess that's it all over! Had a great night in clonmel, a cool way to end the SFHT '07.

Started in Fred's in Cork, with QQK and Silo, what an amazing night, there was only about 10 people there but it didn't matter, had a ball! Also the scene of the infamous "Dave tries to dance" moment and crazy Polish guy trying to strangle Greg and the guns making their debut appearance!! Car crash TV was one description! Also the hammer thingy originated here! Where is that by the way?????

Then on to Alfie's in Dublin, had a really good crowd there that night, few minor sound issues, didn't help that we were all late, but apart from that it went fine. Verfield stole the show that night, on their Dublin debut, they were on top form! Qazi closed the night with a great set and all went home happy! The guns also appeared that evening! "Like watching your dad get undressed" was one memorable quote!!

The Limerick homecoming, in Daffys, was a bit of a let down, for me personally anyway.( Even though I did get to use the Les Paul for the first time) Think we had all built it up to be this amazing night but things kinda just fell flat, we had to cut our set short and never really got going but it's just one of those things. Ava Ria took the honours that night with an amazing opening set! Also might turn out to be the last ever gig ran by MILF/ TR promotions which is an awful shame but sometimes thats just the way things go I guess. Well done guys for the work ye put in over the last few months, ye should be proud!

Next up was Zoo club in Kilkenny, what a great venue! Full of character! Nobody there though 'til about 12.30 which kinda suited us as we were only going on at 12.15 so from a personal point of view it was cool, people really seemed to enjoy it. Felt bad for Qazi and Verfield playing excellent sets to the converted but thats the way the cards fall sometimes and we've all been in that position over the course of the tour! This was also the scene of Brian being promoted to lead vocals for Qazi and a fine job he did too! There was also the horror of Qazi being joined on stage by my good self, fudges and paddy, for Qazi's " The Inquest of Captain Scarlet"!!! I really hope that footage never surfaces cos that was cringe worthy, toe curling stuff and I will forever be horrified with myself! "Like the time we did Chumba Wumba in karaoke" was Greg's thoughts on it! :) The guns were also present and accounted for! Thanks to Kevin and Andrew in Zoo.

The final date, last night, took us to The Piper in Clonmel, really good crowd there. Verfield opened the gig with a rousing set that, in my opinion, was their best of the tour! Made all the more unbelievable by the fact that Bundy thought he might die half way through, get that EP sorted soon guys!!!!! Our set was, ah eventful, I guess!! :) Ah well what goes on tour stays on tour! Crowd seemed to enjoy it. They were all in good spirits anyway, due to there being a 21st on (well until their bottle of goldshlager went missing anyway!!! Tut tut someone could have been lynched!) Qazi closed with a savage set, which contained much cake!!

Ah that's about it I guess, tour over. Hoping to start booking dates soon, for Jan-April next year so we can do it all over again.

Want to say a big thanks to all the people that made this happen.

First and foremost the bands. All of which made it a very enjoyable tour, no in fighting, bitchiness or egos that you kinda associate with bands, especially some that we have played with in the past. Everyone just went out there and did the business, whether going on first or last to a packed crowd or empty bar stools! And the fact that we all supported each other was pretty cool, helped that both bands we played with are also extremely talented!

    Qazi
    Brian
    Amy
    Liam
    John

    Verfield
    Bundy
    Paddy
    Andrew

    Lost Highway
    Greg
    Dave
    Barry
    Iain
    Pat

Also gotta thank people that came along for the ride:

AH Dave, you're a true College man again, slumming it with the worst of us! We're just off Gardiner Street for the Summer, work doesn't exist here! Jess is trying out a job as one of those annoying people on the street selling scratchcards for charities but not the kind that sit at a desk with a sign, the kind that follow you around and tell you stories. Ya, desperate times! I've contacted just about every Film Production company in Dublin (There are Lots!) looking for work and nobody even replies. You college students don't know how easy you have it!
