We're Not Real

"Stop narrating me", a teenager screams, as a multitude of voices whisper in her ear. In fact, We're Not Real , four plays devised and directed by members of Dublin Youth Theatre, is all about teenagers taking responsibility for their own stories: the pressures of becoming a man; the disappointments of becoming a woman; the confusion of an adolescent limbo of enforced responsibility and a refusal of control . . .

However, We're Not Real is never self-indulgent. The dramaturgy is generous, as in the first piece, It's a Gift: A Little Parcel , which is resumed again at the evening's end, while in A Line in a Story , cocaine is treated to an impressive meditation on the media and the drug trade as well as peer pressure.

The use of technology in the plays, meanwhile, is incredibly sophisticated, emphasising the increasing emotional distance created in a world where virtual identities can supersede real-life encounters.

The dark themes and raw energy of We're Not Real may not be for the faint-hearted (perhaps especially not for parents), but as a gauge of the reality, and the maturity, of modern youth culture, it is an eye-opener, as well as an entertaining evening in the theatre.

When I went into Trinity College on Wednesday the 19th of November, I was to meet my friend Meadhbh(who told me I should do it.), who'd of thought it'd turn out to be a day of, creating fantastic proaganda schemeing(shhh), new proposals for luas's, metros, bridges, architecture(lil Cormac of course will build). Also, no chips, what the hell like??? Ignoring Blank..ok anyway..


Why to elect me as Minister of Transport, heres an example, name me any bus route in Dublin, I'll tell you exactly where it goes, however i do not know times, so don't ask me a ridiculous, that may sound quite ludicious to you, but with in doubt in Dublin, send me a text if you are lost, then you'll appriciate it much much more.

I've a few ideas, starting with, a new two new runways at Dublin Airport, going northeastwards and south runway. I'm planing on a new train service like a big magnificent ring around Ireland, literally, will stop in all the counties that link at the coast. I plan to give Wexford it's own bus service, to fix the Galway services. Build a metro in Cork City, extend the new propsed Metro in Dublin to Balbriggan to Blessington(via UCD, DCU, Ballymun obivously), to get ready for the 2024 Olympics for Ireland at outside Balbriggan. A new Bridge from Dublin Port extending to halfway to Wales, then can do the rest. Luas extended to Athlone, and have it actually link up. Extend the M50 to go under the water near Bray and up to Howth to eventually link back in it's original placing at the N32 Malahide Rd. I will also have a train station that sells PIES ONLY!!!! There will be triains that leave, but YOU MUST BUY PIE FIRST! Sort out the Dublin Bus system, make sure 80% of the fleet go via Ballymun, Balbriggan and Tallaght.

So they are my proposed plans for now, I do hope it's made you feel more, openly for voting for me. Remember, when you meet you friends, family members, you've to say Heil Simon, with your right arm at an 80degree angle, and move it like a worm for approx 5seconds. Thank you Meadhbh for helping me to see sence that I should be Minister of Transport, also to Cormac for helping to design the buildings etc, and Blank will recieve his own Branch Line.
