Lee Miller
To all Lee Miller is a dreadful player, who is both an out and out cheat and time waster with his diving ways. Since his departure from Tannadice utd have become a better team for this, and his current injury woe will allow utd to press on from 4th. The sheep are bulit only upon his ability to win dodgy free kicks and score the odd fluke thus they will no longer have any scoring options up front, and there is now good chance they will be drawn into the relegation battle, and as the old saying goes, good riddence to bad rubbish!1 Comment 218 weeks

Day 1 24/01/09
This is the first of hopefully many entrys to this blog, detailling the events of Bodge and myselfs escapade whilst here in the most northern isle of Scotland.
So the day of travel started well, with some or most of my packing still to do and with a stinking hangover this was not the most welcomed of tasks. The weather was fair in aberdeen so hopefully this would provide a calm days (14 Hours!!!!) sailing. Bodge started well as when finally having the car packed up and ready to leave for the harbour, he proceded to throw up all over the Spring gardens car park, and then made a bolt back to the flat to use the facilities!!!
Having to arrive two hours prior to departure was not welcomed with open arms, as bodge still feeling under the weather spent most of this time using the toilets or jumping up and down outside.
After getting on the boat we decided just to chill in the 'recliner lounge' the term recliner can only be used very loosely when describing these chairs. However, they did serve the purpose of giving a couple of hours shut eye. The swell of the north sea does not help to comfort anyone to sleep and on walking up felt bloody dreadful and was almost ready to do a 'Bodge'. So it was decided to combat this by getting food, after whacking back a fish supper this did help to solve the slight nausea. We both agreed that as we were on the boat fo another 10 hours it would probably be best to get a cabin for the night, and this proved to be an outstanding descision, a bed, a tv and a shower were the best possible things to ever have on that crossing. After having a shower, we decided to wander out on to 'the deck' which was rather unneventful as its bloody dark in the middle of the north sea. So we retired to the cabin to get some sleep for the forthcoming day.

On arrival in Lerwick, it was defentily more inhabited than i had expected, see episode of still game 'Hootenany', so after roghly half an hour of driving around the outskirts of the town centre looking for the gilbert bain hospital, we stumbled across it by sheet fluke. We then spent the next half hour hunting for the even more elusive monkfield accomodation, which on first look is essentially a building site, as the fron of the building appears to be getting refurbed. Inside is nice enough and to our great surprise access to free internet is provided, so happy days and this will allow me to keep reader(s) up to date. Day 1 was made even more interesting with a trip to A and E, where Bodge was essentially told there was sfa wrong with him! But that didnt stop him informing everyone of his torrid illness. From the hospital we ventured to the lerwick tesco, where we discovered that averything in shetland costs almost double what it does on the mainland, we also found out that it was not unusual to encounter people of roller blades zooming up the ailses. After our first shopping trip, we drove around the town to extablish where we were, and simply discovered that getting lost in lerwick is increbibly hard, and that all roads lead to one main one! We then tried our hands to a bit of off road driving, up a very steep dirt track to the summit of a hill over looking the town, this road also lead eventualy to said main street, however via an unfinished road with giant drains to boot. Spent the rest of the afternoon just lazing about, met our neighbours, variety of doctors, nurses, and psychologist! who were having an australia day party for one of the med students, so went to that for some burgers and beers (classy way to start a placement), We then went from the party to the lounge bar in the town, place was rammed with folk for up helly aa, and had random people jamming in the middle of it, so a great way to start my 5 weeks in shetland.
26/01/09 First day of placment
So day began by arriving at the hospital to be shown around, and be given the usual health and safety induction, nothing too exciting there.2 Comments 225 weeks
