A Catholic hospital is trying to figure out what to do with a window in which some Catholics claim to see an image of the Virgin Mary.
Hundreds of faithful gathered last October to view the second-story office window at Mercy Medical Center in Springfield, about 80 miles (128 kilometers) west of Boston. They wept and prayed.
The hospital removed the window after the crush of visitors caused traffic problems. It's storing the window at a secret location.

Subject: FW: Swine flu: precautionary measures
Dear students,

You will be aware that the World Health Organisation has raised its pandemic threat alert to level four (increased human to human transition) for the swine flu virus.

While the threat to the public in Scotland remains low, people should take simple precautionary measures to help ensure that remains the case.

For that reason, I wanted to share with you the latest advice from the Foreign and Commonwealth Office and from Health Protection Scotland.

Currently, the Foreign and Commonwealth Office is advising against all but essential travel to Mexico. The University strongly endorses this stance and is advising against anyone travelling to Mexico for university activities at this time.

There are currently no restrictions on visiting other countries affected by the swine flu outbreak. However the latest travel advice will be posted on the Foreign and Commonwealth Office website (http://www.fco.gov.uk/en) and you should check this site for updates if you plan to travel to any affected area.

The following recommendations should help you to reduce your risk of infection and help you to stay healthy.

Influenza is a disease that is spread through contact with respiratory secretions. To minimise contact with respiratory secretions you should ensure that you:

• Wash your hands frequently with soap and water or use an alcohol based hand gel where soap and water in unavailable;
• Cover your nose and mouth with a tissue when you cough or sneeze and dispose of tissue promptly and considerately;
• Ensure that you wash your hands after coughing or sneezing;
• Make sure your friends and family follow this advice;

If you have to travel, be aware of the health advice from local government at your destination as this will alert you to any changes in the situation during your travels.

If you have to travel and feel unwell during your visit to an affected area with fever and other influenza like symptoms such as generalised aches and pains, cough and sore throat you should seek medical attention as soon as possible. If you think you may be ill, it is important to limit contact with other individuals to avoid spreading any illness.

If you are a returning traveller from an affected area you should monitor your health closely for seven days following your trip. If you feel ill with fever and other influenza like symptoms, you should stay at home and telephone your GP, or NHS 24 on 0845 4 242424.
