i havnt been able to find anyone who knos about history and speeks english.

as far as i kno (and my history is very sketchy) over the last thousand years, the land that is now palestine has been ruled by the turks (for like most of that time), then the brits (who if u ask the few affluent arabs who remember them, say they were the best rulers they cud have had - even better than palestinian leaders), then they were semi-independant but essentially governed by Jordan, then the israelis counted palestine as a crappy part of israel, and now nobody runs it properly, but i dont think that counts as independance...
