    • Two weeks!

      Can't believe its nearly over! Back to the U.K. in two weeks, first stopping in foggy London town for a few days with my mother, siblings and step-folks. From there its back to Glasgow and back to the girl, the band and i'm really looking forward to it!

      Not much to add in terms of what we've been doing out here really. We now have two weeks of time off having worked 6 nights a week for the first 8 weeks, so we're getting to do everything we'd hoped to do now. We are going on a coastal hike on friday and there are plans for a catamaran (spelling?!?!) tour around the island with food and drink, maybe a yoga lesson from Tanya who runs the conservation group we've been helping out.

      Last week we took a glass bottom boat, with just the ten of us, out over Buccoo Reef, where we then snorkelled (which was amazing!!!), there were lots of cool wee beasties, no sharks though sadly! We then sailed to a wee region in the sea known as Nylon Pool, which is this crazy big patch of like 2 foot deep water in the middle of the sea.

      Firstly, sorry for the blogging laziness!
      Though if i spent all my time blogging then i wouldn't have anything to write about...yeah.

      The days all kind of merge with the sleepiness so i'll try and summarise the best bits.
      So i mentioned that we were going to Sunday School in the last blog...it was interesting i guess. The food was great, and the beer was cheap, but we stuck out like sore thumbs in the sea of black guys. I say guys in that there were hardly any local women, only scary guys eyeing us up (no, not just the girls - more on this later) and others offering us marijuana at every opportunity. Theres was also a scary Canadian man asking me for my phone number. One of them is the guy across the road from us, he quite often drives past us, rolls down the window and says "smoke the ganjah boy?". There was also a scary Canadian man asking me for my phone number, needless to say i said "naw".

      So yeah, we got out of Sunday School pretty early, though people from Edinburgh Napier Uni stayed on and ended up getting some stuff stolen and got threatened and stuff which isn't so great.

      We went on a wee trip to a waterfall, which was, without meaning to sound like a total gaybo, breathtaking. Eesh. There should be photos of our day out there as soon as we get broadband. It was about 30-40ft tall and we climbed up to the top to swim in some of the pools, the climb was near death-defying but pretty awesome!

      On our first proper night off (we work six days a week with 10-3am shifts on Graffton/Back Bay, 8-12:30am Turtle Beach and 12:30-4:30am Turtle Beach shifts) we went to a bar up the road and had lots of tequila and other such things, again there'll be photos of our tomfoolery soon enough.

      As far as turtle stuff goes, since the last blog, we have seen our first baby turtles which are as cute as they are a bit daft, we should start to see more as the nesting season slows towards the end of july/early august. A few of us saw our first poached turtle the other night, which was disgusting in terms of all the guts and stuff, and that someone had the audacity to actually kill it. I have photos of that so message me if you really have to see it, not one for the squeamish.

      Not much to add I'm afraid...we're going on a rainforest walk, which should be awesome, giant killer centipedes aside!

      i'll try being more regular with this from here on
