With Christmas around the corner. We need to embrace the spirituality of these Pegan holidays. To keep the religiouse beliefs alive in our culture. Just today I spoke with an Evangelico Christain man who is brillent and very well educated in Christainity. He spoke to me about the symbology around holidays like Christmas. So I'd like to share with you a little symbology about the candy cane to why every Christmas you'll find candy canes, it may make you consider looking differently at Candy canes.

The Candy Cane Story

A candy maker in India,
Wanted to make a candy,
That would be a witness for his Savior,
So, he made the Christmas candy cane.
He created several symbols of the birth,
Ministry and death of Jesus Christ.
He began,
With a stick of pure white, hard candy,
The white symbolizes the Virgin birth,
And the sinless nature of Jesus,
The Hardness of the candy symbolizes,
The solid rock,
The foundation of the Church,
And the firmness of the promises of God,
The candy maker,
Made the candy into the form of a “J”,
To represent the precious name of Jesus,
Who came to Earth as our Savior,
And a symbol to represent,
The staff of the Good Shepherd.
The candy maker,
Then stained the cane with red strips,
Of the scourging Jesus,
Received prior to His crucifixion,
For our healing.
The larger red strips represents,
The shedding of his blood,
For the redemption of sins,
To why every Christmas,

If Charles Babbage had been born a dog, instead of a man, he might have growled, snapped, or even bitten people. Everyone said he was a “ people hater.” Almost all people annoyed him- especially people who made mistakes in Arithmetic.
If you had made a mistake in your Arithmetic many years ago in England, you’d have hoped Charles Babbage wasn’t around to catch your mistake. But people did make mistakes, and grouchy Babbage couldn’t stand it. So he invented a machine- a machine that did Arithmetic and didn’t make mistakes.
Babbage didn’t stop with his arithmetic machine. He had a bigger idea for building a kind of “ thinking,” machine. To build this complicated machine would take a lot of money and special tools- money and tools that Babbage didn’t have. The English government refused to helped him because he was cranky and stubborn. So Babbage died without building his “ thinking” machine. Years later, men had the right tools and enough money to build “ thinking” machines.
Today, we have many “ thinking” and counting machines called computers. They can do what Charles Babbage’s machine would have done- “ Think” and count without making a mistake. It’s too bad the cranky inventor didn’t live long enough to see his dream come true.

Recently I have been studying flowers as well as taking a close look into the beauty of nature all around us. And I found a few thing Interesting about it. Early man recongized nature as the source of food and shelter and revered it power and beauty. Items made from natural materials were equally respected. And while function was clearly a goal of these early crafts, the repetition of making them day in, day out generated boredom, and the boredom inspired an awareness of creative alternatives. Color was added with dyes, new patterns and shapes were devised, and a worldwide tradition of natural crafting began. Today we find projects made from flowers and herbs; fruits and vegetables; Leaves and bark; wheat and grasses;sticks, saplings, and vines, seeds, seedpods, nuts, and cones, gourds, seashells,driftwood;cornhusks and pine needles. Nature provides us with everything we need in order to live and survive as a society. To admire and to look at, materials to use to create functional things like a roof over our head. Flowers above all is a great way to express the natural beauty of life and bring into our homes. In my study of Flowers and floral arrangement I learned that making an arrangement is like painting a Painting on canvas but instead of using paints you are using colorful flowers to create a arrangement of Natural beauty in 3-dimensional aspect, starting with a high point and working down, as well as blending your pattlet perfectly, in order to create desire to the arrangement, optical beauty. Alot of people disregard nature by polluting it. But artists tend to see between the finer lining in life. And tend to reserve that aspect of beauty through crafting and art. Nature provides us with everything. We all should honor her in return, not destroy her..... So go out there and create....
