Band Night Tues 17 Feb 09
Its Tuesday and so a band night. Attendance not too bad tonight. Many of the usual suspects. Notably a visit from our worthy President, Mr George Norrie, Who stopped in to hear us play.
Tonight we had Trumpet Voluntary - for use at easter service. Also had a look at Born Free. We've not used that in a while. Then moved on to solo's in preparation for the Concert in June. Over the rainbow - Tenor Horn solo by Gillian, My Old Kentucky Home - Euphonium solo by Caroline, Concerto de Aranquez - Flugel Horn solo by Karen and Iona - tenor Horn solo by Gillian. Also had Scots selection Gems of Scotia and finished off with Aces High.
Beginning to make plans for the Annual concert, hence all the Solo's being tried out.1 commento 290 giorni

This was posted on the website - Delighted to see the Band has a website and is still alive and kicking! Played principal cornet with band many many moons ago and lots of happy memories - how many have played to Jimmy Saville on a ship down at the docks I wonder...? Playing for United Co-op Crewe now and have a cornet playing son who sits above me (grrr!) adn hubbie's in Fodens. Can't be bad! Must've been Jim's encouragement! Keep up the good work folks!
