Different people call me different things, choose one and stick with it!
I'm really passionate about motor vehicles. My pride and joy is a 1998 Nissan Pulsar VZ-R Autech. I've spent just over 2 years building it into what it is, the best part being the time spent with my mate Kieran hand building the engine. Quite proud of that achievement!!
Aside from the motorsport side of things, I'm heavily into music. I play trumpet and bass guitar and I love ska, reggae, punk rock, funk... In fact just about anything that has a groove and doesn't get played on ZM! I'm also a fag, haha. Well, I don't act like a fag, but girls just never really did it for me, so I prefer the finer of the two sexes, haha. If you just happen to fall into this category, add me =P. - Music

- Track racing. Finally got out on the Taupo circuit for a good strop. Had a ball, keen as hell to spend more time out there. Drag racing is okay from time to time. I love powerboat racing, although purely as a spectator. Managed a 49 second lap around track 3 with the vzr in stock trim, and best time is a 15.3 @ 156kph on a rubbish track.

New Years 08/09 Summary
Crikey where the hell do I start!?
This year I made the trek to Gisborne for Rhythm and Vines. I wont bother filling in the boring details so I'll just excite you all with the highlights of an epic week.
Monday night saw us drinking at Aarons which is just up from the BW campsite. After a few we decided to head out on an evening stroll along the beach. There was the usual dodgy campers having a root on the beach, yah know, nothing spectacular until we struck gold! Low and behold, we have some skinny dippers heading for the water! Our fearless leader, Sam decided he'd hide their clothes. Now if this wasn't epic enough we hid upwards of our naked friends and waited for them to return to where their clothes "should" be. As they were fumbling around trying to find cover Sam headed over for a wee chat.
"Have you seen our clothes?"
"No, I just came for the photo opp" *FLASH*
Photos are up on Sam's Bebo page
.
Epic event number two was sitting in rubbish bags decorated in stickers and glow sticks trying to keep dry on Gisborne's biggest offer of rain in the past few months. We managed to stay surprisingly dry and kicked back to watch the Kooks and Franz Ferdinand before heading home to bed.
Epic event number three was watching Flava, that rapper guy who wears a clock. All I have to say is this... What a complete and total knob end. If you get the chance to see him, don't. Save your money and buy an icecream, it'll be better in the long run I assure you.
Now epic event number four was new years itself, this obviously is the biggest most epic event of them all!
It began with predrinks at Aarons and yeah, hit it kinda hard! We half stumbled our way to RnV for the biggest night of the year just in time to miss the Tutts, ah well, another time! After that we chilled out at some awesome Reggae jazzy kinda band called Blvd. Nights. They were mint! Then we rocked over for The Black Seeds, LOVE that band!! Then The Datsuns which were okay, and then... (drumroll please!). SHIHAD!!! That is one of the most lively live acts I've seen, they really went off!! Then we counted down the final seconds to two thousand and nine with some dipshit DJ called Carl Cox and he sucked arse pretty badly.
Thanks to Juleon, Aaron and Jeremy for the new years kisses! (even if it was just a peck on the cheek, lol).
Yesterday (unepic event number five) involved sitting on our arses recovering before I headed back home last night. Overall that was one of the biggest most killerest new years I've had, huge thanks to Sam and Manda for putting us up for the 4 nights!! Also a huge thanks to everyone I hung out with over the course of the week, made it that much more fun!
Catchya all for the next one aight!0 comentarios 349 días

Something more serious
Okay, so the gummint has decided to introduce another exhaust law, this one also highlights and targets the use of blow off valves in modified vehicles. The legislation as it's written applies only to cars manufactured after 1985, that means the cars YOU own and love, leaving the V8 boys to their ways.
I'm strongly against this legislation, which can be read at this link...
http://www.nzta.govt.nz/consultation...
"This is the yellow (public consultation) draft of Land
Transport Rule: Vehicle Equipment (Noise) Amendment
[2009] (Rule 32017/4). If you wish to comment on this draft
Rule, please see the page headed ‘Making a submission’. The
deadline for submissions is 17 September 2008."
That means it's in the submission phase so we still have a chance to OPPOSE this legislation, if we act fast. Submissions close on September 17th so I've started to draft a letter that people can sign and submit.
So far I have...
Coming from a vast group of car enthusiasts your proposal to update the legislation governing the noise emissions from road vehicles concerns me. Not only is it a blanket legislation that targets a very specific group of motorists, it’s also very unrealistic.
The biggest concern I have is the issue of blow off valves. I understand that these items necessitate an increase in noise pollution over the factory fitted systems, but that is a by-product of their efficiency. Modification to a turbo engine in any minor form requires a more efficient venting system than the stock item (which is often ineffective at the best of times) to protect both the turbo and the engine from long lasting damage. A car with an inefficient venting system will increase vehicle emissions and greatly decrease product life as the efficiency of the turbo is significantly compromised.
As you can see, I've only attacked one part of the new legislation so far, I'm yet to complete the full submission but when I do over the next few days I'll be posting it in my blog, and also in a lot of car forums that I'm a part of. We need to let our voices be heard guys! BUT we do need to be sensible and mature about this. We need to be recognised as a legitimate voice of reason by a government that doesn't care for our freedoms as motor vehicle owners and enthusiasts.10 comentarios 490 días

Cars cars and musical shite
Wow, no blog in a while. It's dead quiet at work so I thought I'd whip something up for ya'll!
First up, cars:
Some (most?) of you know I sold my Corolla a couple of months ago. Such a faithful and reliable thing he was, a sad day when I let him go but I've moved on to another P10. His name is Ash, haha. A sturdily built, gunmetal grey automatic P10 Primera. As good as they come! Plans are basic, and so far include a basic sound system, a few interior bits and I've collected parts for a manual conversion which will happen soon after my birthday later this month. It wasn't that I don't like the auto, it's that it's fucking out... Lol. I've also got some momo 15's which I'm going to powdercoat and fit with some new tyres before putting them on. Then some lowering springs and I'll hunt down the rest of the factory body kit.
Easy!
On the VZ-R side of things I picked up a short shifter which turns out to not be for a Nissan even though it was advertised as one! Bit pissed about that but life goes on. I put the Znoelli slotted rotors on with some EBC yellow race pads which I don't rate that highly, I'll be ditching them for something better soon enough. Engine is coming along, I need to take it to paramount to have the bores widened for the new pistons and then we're at the assembly stage. Also things are moving forward with the header design which I'm now going for 4>2>1 with a nice merge collector so ground clearance will no longer be an issue! Also fitted some Nismo damper adjustable suspension a couple of months ago and that's set her up nicely.
Music!
Still playing the trumpet, everyone with band seems busy lately so organising a practice has become difficult and we havn't had one for quite a while, dammit. One day we'll get to the point of setting up a gig, and I'm sure some of you would love to see us play. Me and Dee have a few songs written that we're going to finish up and maybe record into a proper demo so you'll have something to listen to!
I guess that's a good ol' update to keep you in the loop with what's going on with my life! My b'day rocks up soon, 20th of June so I may be organising a bit of a shindigg there, maybe a bar crawl or something in town, I havn't decided yet but those who need to know will be kept informed!
