- Tami Chynn (born Tammar Anika Chin) is a singer, songwriter and dancer from Kingston, Jamaica
Tami Chynn Is Of Chinese descent with Cherokee ancestry, She Is Also Half Afro-Jamaican With Half British Ancestry. She Grew Up In Kingston Jamaica And Moved To London To Study The Performing Arts When She Was 14. She Spent Three Years Studying In London And Then Moved, At 17, Back To Jamaica Where She Worked On Her Music Career.
She Toured With Fellow Jamaican Artist Shaggy And Featured On Sean Paul's Highly Succesful Album 'The Trinity'. Shortly After She Was Signed With Universal Motown Records For A Four Album Deal. She Then Released Her First Album 'Out Of Many One' Which Quickly Spawned The Hit Single Hyperventilating And Established Her As A Hot New Talent.
In 2008 Tami Was Signed To Akons Konvict Music Label. Her New Album Primadonna(Produced By Akon and Redone) Is Set For Release In 2009. Her Brand New Single Frozen Looks Set To Be A Smash. Tami Chynn Is Ready To Dominate

Primadonna Cancelled! Tami Leaves Record Label!
BREAKING NEWS
It has just been confirmed that Tami Chynn has parted ways with her record label. On the Jamaican early morning program, 'TVJ Smile Jamaica' May 4, 2009, Tami announced she is in the process of amicably cutting ties with Universal music after trying to promote her most recent works with the Company for over one year. Even though she was signed to KonVict Muzik, her music was still under the control of Universal. Tami noted that Universal found it difficult to find a demographic market for her look and sound, which resulted in further difficulty in trying to release her second album 'Prima Donna'. This was also a factor with her debut album.
"Frozen" (featuring Akon), the first single from her second album was not presented to radio stations across America which resulted in its failure to reach any mainstream airplay. She has not done any studio recording for the past four months. Now back in Jamaica, Tami is quoted as saying 'she is trying to fall in love again with music'.
Tami also notes she is not interested in signing with another music studio at this time, but is focusing on doing more live performances locally.
Primadonna really sounded like a good album so lets hope Tami releases something quite soon. Meanwhile her latest song 'Forever Your Girl' is hitting blogs around the Internet.
