- Fleet F oxes is a five-piece Seattle based band signed to the labels Sub Pop and Bella Union.[1] The Fleet Foxes' first release was a self-titled EP in 2006. The band came to prominence in 2008 with the release of a second EP, Sun Giant, and their debut full length album Fleet Foxes. Both Sun Giant and their eponymous debut album received much critical praise and reviewers often noted their use of refined lyrics and vocal harmonies. The quintet describe their music as "baroque harmonic pop jams".[2]

Fleet Foxes are most often compared to Fleetwood Mac, Neil Young, the Zombies, and Crosby, Stills & Nash. Fans of the Fleet Foxes may be interested in labelmates Band of Horses, Arthur & Yu, Cave Singers, and Sera Cahoone. Although sonically these bands are all very different, their music generally attracts the same audience.
Fleet Foxes formed when teenagers Robin Pecknold and Skye Skjelset, who went to high school together, started performing as a duo. After graduation, they amassed a band and teamed up with Seattle-based producer Phil Ek, who recorded their first EP. Over the course of the next couple years, the band quickly developed a following in Seattle that led to the recording of their second EP Sun Giant and attracted the attention of the SubPop label. After releasing Sun Giant in early 2008, they quickly followed with their full-length self-titled debut, which wound up on many critics Best of 2008 lists.

Wow, Fleet Foxes commenting on an Arcade fire site... modest! The bands i like seem to emerge originally from Seattle. Remember the old sub pop? In there time I can imagine them headhunting you lot! Sorry bit of an un-sobriety speel (is that a word?) from Ireland
