Lost my brother Lyndsay Tamahou Rawiri who passed on Sunday 29th of June 2008 @ 7:15am. One of the hardest things I have ever been through to lose him so early and at the young tender age of 29. Always thinking of you my bro, I will live on your memory and I will never let your time in our life go unnoticed. Will miss you and never forget you.

Otara‘s Youth Have The Right To Write!
It is a well known fact that many of Otara’s youth, such as Young Sid of Smashproof, and Manu Vatuvei of the Warriors, have gone on to become very successful in their music and sporting endeavours. However, lesser known is the fact that the 12th August is United Nations International Youth Day and Hoodie Day which celebrate young people and youth culture.
On Saturday 8th August while the usual hubbub of the Otara Markets is going on, Otara Youth Collective, with the support of Otara Health Incorporated, bring you the “Right To Write” – Otara Street Jam event, Otaras tribute to celebrate United Nations International Youth Day and Hoodie Day!
Hosted by Flava the free family event features live performances by Cydel, Anonymouz, Malcolm Lakatani, 4DG, Shine Forum, Crossbreed, Underground Krump Kings, Sweetness, Protégé, Deeplight, Murdz, Eddie Williams & many more!
Not just about the music the “Right To Write” event also provides the opportunity for budding local visual artists to enter into a street art competition and get up close and personal with the hosts of the art competition and members of the TMD Graffiti crew -Phat One and Lady Diva.
So if you and the family are looking to check out some fresh new sounds and art with a strong possibility you might win some free giveaways, join us at “Right To Write” – Otara Street Jam!

Details
One need only look at some of the current unprecedented achievements in the music industry by some of South Auckland’s hip hop stars to realize the amazing creative talent within each areas youth.
Mangere urban music artists, however, have relatively flown under the industry radar for years. In fact, live Hip Hop and Rnb music concerts have been non-existent in the area, which is the inspiration behind a free concert being put on at the Mangere Town Centre stage on Saturday 6th June titled “Mangere Love”.
2008 Phillip Fuemana Most Promising Artist recipient and Mangere Producer/ Artist ‘Anonymouz’ elaborates;
“Back in the late nineties, a US hip hop song called ‘California Love’ by 2Pac and Dr Dre became a worldwide hit and proudly told their areas story to the world through music.
Putting on this concert not only aims to celebrate a historic coming together of current Mangere urban acts for the first time, but also aims to galvanise our local music scene and to encourage our local youth to get their own creative talents out there as well; to represent ourselves, our stories, our community.”
The free concert is from 10am – 12.30pm inside the Mangere Town Centre Stage, and features local Mangere hip hop artists; Anonymouz, The Hypnotics, Tha Feelstyle, Recommended Dosage, Taaz, Murdz, Qeen Shirl’e, Ephesians 6:13 and more!
Competitions and giveaways, local DJ Al Goodie will be spinning the latest sounds and local graffiti art crew ‘FDKNS’ will also be doing live aerosol artwork demonstrations.
