Rafa Benitez...
by
Johnny D
After Last nights match the pressure on Rafa will no doubt grow...I could go and slate certain fans and the media alike but i responded to a poster on TeamTalk earlier about Rafa and i think yee should have a read...0 Replies 188 weeks
"People have asked why Rafa is still here after all the crap he has had to endure off just about everyone. I can understand how you might be disillusioned. The media have wanted his blood from day one. They never let up against him. It makes me sick this hate campaign they have against him. Then you have the owners who undermine him and refuse to properly financially back him. Then you have short sighted, sick people such as Daniel on here, spreading their venomous garbage about him.
I sometimes wonder why he sticks around too...
Yesterday on sky sports Guillem Balague said Rafa was offered a four year deal at the start of the summer by Real Madrid to become their manager!!! And he was going to be paid 6million euro a year!!! And Madrid are his team, yet he refused!!!The reason why Rafa has stayed is because Liverpool is now his main love. He feels at home with us and our club. He believes in Liverpool, our beliefs and our traditions.
It no longer is a club he manages but a club he loves. Liverpool Football Club has become part of who he is as a person.
Like Houiller said recently in that Lyon were a team he managed and hoped to do well but Liverpool was deep in his heart. Managers realise what it is to be part of this Club and what an honour it is. Rafa is a man of honour and he gave us his word he would not walk and i expect him to keep it.
I think the major reason he stays is because he knows the core of the Liverpool fan base is numbered in the millions and we as football educated fans know what he has to endure and we love him more for standing by us. It is why we stand by him now in this difficult time he is having. We know what he has done for us and where he has brought us too. We know that this season’ form was the regular before he arrived!
We know it is only a matter of time before we are back to the form of last season.
We know a quality manger when we have one, and we know when we have a manager who believes in Liverpool football club the way we do!!!
When, not if, but when we win the league in the very near future and Rafa is holding the title...i can’t wait to look so called Liverpool fans in the eyes and remind them how they slated him today! YNWA Rafa!!!"
My faith in Rafa is not blind. The man is not without his faults, who of us is? Those who are willing to throw the first stone/stones are not seeing the bigger picture! I believe in Rafa Benitez as a man and as a manager...why so much? Because he is one of the greatest managers in the world, and he believes in Liverpool Football Club...
History will remember Rafa Benitez as one of our greatest ever managers!!! Mark my words!
I also posted my Blog on www.liverpoolsdel.blogspot.com on last nights game.
I urge those who have not read my Blog entitled “One step back to go two steps forward” to do so on http://liverpoolsdel.blogspot.com/20...

Latest News - 13/04/09: HILLSBOROUGH SONG IN CHARTS TOP 20
Taken from:- www.liverpoolfc.tv
The brilliant new Fields of Anfield Road song - recorded to raise awareness of the Hillsborough disaster and starring many former Liverpool players has entered the charts at Number 16.
The track which features former Cast frontman and La's bassist John Power and the Farm's Peter Hooton on vocals, has proved a huge hit with LFC fans and music buyers from all over the country.
In the north west chart the song knocked Lady GaGa off the top spot. Another 10,000 copies have been made and will be available to buy after Bank Holiday Monday.
The Farm's Peter Hooton said: "HMV have told us they haven't seen sales like this in years.
"When we started out, we never had the charts in mind. For many, the record is like memorabilia."
Liverpool Lord Mayor, Councillor Steve Rotheram said: "We were almost victims of our own success as we didn't think as many people would want to have a physical copy.
"We tried to restock as quick as we possibly could.
"The whole project, to commemorate the death of 96 Liverpool supporters, and getting it in the charts in its first week, is a credit to everyone who bought it."

Latest News - 13/04/09: TORRES: GOALS WERE FOR THE 96
Taken from:- www.liverpoolfc.tv
Fernando Torres has dedicated his double in Saturday's 4-0 rout of Blackburn Rovers to the memory of the 96.
The Spanish hot-shot pointed to the heavens after opening the scoring with a stunning fifth minute volley and later admitted that the goals held extra significance ahead of the 20th anniversary of the Hillsborugh disaster.
"These goals are for the 96 and their families because I know that Saturday was a special day for them with it being the home game closest to the anniversary," said Torres.
"These goals are more special because of the service on Wednesday.
"All the goals are for the fans and the families. On Wednesday we will see all of them and we know it is an important day for them and for all Liverpool supporters.
"It makes Tuesday all the more important. We have to try to do it for the families and the 96."0 Comments 218 weeks

Latest News - 13/04/09: BOSS SALUTES FANS' TRIBUTE
Taken from:- www.liverpoolfc.tv
Rafael Benitez believes Saturday's emphatic win over Blackburn was the perfect way to mark Liverpool’s last home match ahead of the 20th anniversary of the Hillsborough disaster.
The Reds boss was delighted with his side's response to their Champions League defeat against Chelsea and also had words of praise for the way both sets of supporters conducted themselves on what was an emotional afternoon.
"I think the minute's silence was fantastic," he said. "We showed respect, everyone knows what it means for us, so we are really pleased with the reaction all around stadium.
"In terms of the team on the pitch we are also very happy because we scored four goals and didn't concede.
"The game was a fantastic opportunity for us to play well and show that we the quality to score three goals (against Chelsea). The fact we didn't concede against players who are very good in the air was another positive."
Prior to the match with Rovers, Jamie Carragher described it as the most important Premier League game of his career. With the three points now in the bag, Benitez has echoed those words, calling upon his team to take the same mentality into next week’s home game with Arsenal.
"We have confidence we can beat anyone if we play well," he said. "The idea will be to approach the game against Arsenal thinking it is the most important game of season and after that think the same in each game."
Asked what he thought about Fernando Torres’ sensational opener against Rovers, the boss added: It was really good, not like Van Basten though.
"He is improving. He's a good player now, but he will be much better in the future because he is keen to learn."0 Comments 218 weeks
