- Anyone who knows me, knows that im the guy to go to if you need help, mostly of the technical and software type of course.
Ive always had a love of anything of a technical or musical nature. started playing the guitar in 4th year at school, and these days, i still practice my stuff on my new White ESP Explorer. Anyone looking for a guitarist, im open to offers :-)
Currently enjoying a year in Vancouver, fantastic area and plenty to see and do - plan to do a bit of travelling around BC over the summer

Recession? Depression? - Thank you IT/Computing
With all the doom and gloom, especially since October 2008 - One would be forgiven for thinking that all areas of employment would be suffering or even laying off current employees. However, thankfully for me, my industry is still seeing steady or even increasing business, and many are expanding at the moment, opening new datacentres / branches, or extending current operations.
I speak of course about the datacentre colocation & hosting (managed & self-managed) market. And as luck would have it, I have now secured a job here in Vancouver for the remainder of y stay in Canada in this very industry. Many company owners I have heard from have already reported similar trends, that on top of current business/demand, many companies that until now have owned and managed their own computing systems to provide services to their employees/offices are now selling that infrastructure (to raise capital, and to reduce IT staff numbers & wages) and are leasing space and/or machines, and even the management of the machines from ISPs/Datacentres. So for anyone else in the IT industry that has suffered job loss - get yourself a good technical certification (CCNA/CCNP, MCSE/MCSA etc) and keep looking in growth areas, I'm sure you can find a good opportunity.0 Kommentare 252 Tage

Going ooot aand ahboot in caanadaa
Alas, I shall be finishing my 18month stint here in Dublin at the end of the month, before returning back to my homeland in Cork. But there will not be too much time to rest, as the next phase of travel will be starting in early October which will see me heading off to Vancouver to work over there for up to a year.

Getting into Gear With IT
No, its not IT !!! its I.T - Information Technology :-) Ive now been working at my current job for over 2 months now, since moving on from O2.
What do I do? Well I've finally found myself being able to get into the Server / Network Support area of work finally, and hope to rise to the top of the bunch :-) Not such a long road at all now is it.
