as for hallelujah coming no. 2 at christmas jeff buckley fans multiple downloads WERE NOT counted. his fans were buying the song as much as up to 10-20 times. alexandra burkes version was also released on cd and her fans bought multiple versions of this. how is it fair you are allowed to buy multiple cd's in shops and not downloads (well you can but they wont go towards the chart while multiple cd's will).
sony bmg refused to release jeff buckleys version on cd and stated they wanted alexandra to come no. 1. unfair again
buckley fans downloaded jeff's version of the song off his best of album and "grace" putting it in the chart 3 times
if ALL purchases were counted and sales of the 3 different albums combined it is fair to say jeff probably would have come number 1 on downloads only
it dosnt matter what album jeff's hallelujah was on. on the week where alexandra was no.1 one jeff buckleys hallelujah outsold it

I hate the alexandra version of Halelujah, but I don't think this is what jeff would have wanted. Jeff was never vain or cocky. He had plentity of Influences like; Nina Simone, Led Zepplin, Bad Brains. Your giving the man a bad name. Your heart may be in the right place but your heads up your ass

number 2 is an achievement!! fuck it, it's as good as Number 1 as yer one was never gonna be beaten, with that much hype around her twas impossible!!

I am really chuffed that he got to number two! I think that is absolutely fantastic considering he hadn't any of the promotion that Alex did! All he had was the likes of us on bebo and facebook and myspace! Ok he didnt get to number 1, but I think getting to number two is a pretty strong statement about who a large selection of the british public thinks did the best version of this song, and three years down the line alex will have moved on and it ont be her who is famous for this song anymore, it will be jeff. he is the master of it!!!
