How we spend your money.
►We have allocated the first £8M to our task of helping to provide the new swimming pool and gym complex at DMRC Headley Court. The designs have been submitted to planners and all being well, work should begin in November this year and the complex will be complete in the late autumn of 2009
►We are delighted to be able to announce that Help for Heroes has agreed to give Combat Stress, the charity that helps veterans with mental wounds, a grant of £3.5 million. The money, the biggest grant in the history of Combat Stress, will be used to pay for the much needed expansion, modernisation and reorganisation of their specialist treatment centre, Tyrwhitt House in Surrey.
►We have been delighted to donate £500K to complete the SSAFA Forces Help ‘Homes from Home’ appeal to provide relative’s houses at Headley Court and Selly Oak.
►We are working with an inspirational group of volunteers called Troop Aid who supply goodies to the hospital at Selly Oak to make the wounded patient’s life a little better. With our funding, we are able to ensure their service is now even better.
►The team at Headley Court know how important it is for their patients to get back to doing sporting activities that challenge and get the adrenalin flowing. A new Adaptive Adventure Training Team called Battle Back has been set up to ensure that the wounded get a chance to ‘feel the wind in the face and the sun on the back'.
►Future Projects
-We are looking at a growing number of ways in which we can help further improve the lives of the wounded.

Help For Heroes
Help for Heroes has become, in the words of the Prime Minister, a ‘National Institution’ and it is hard to believe it only started in October 2007. Since then they have raised £1 million a month to help support our wounded servicemen and women injured in the current conflicts.
Over the last few weeks Help For Heries has seen support building into a huge, unstoppable wave. The RFU hosted the Rugby Challenge Match at Twickenham and 52,000 of you cheered on the Rugby Legends and raised over £1.3m. A business man decided to do his bit and paid £1.5m to fly with the RAF’s Red Arrows. The finalists of Simon Cowell’s X Factor joined in and sung Hero which has become the fastest selling record of the decade. Even James Bond has signed up with over £500,000 raised for H4H and the Poppy appeal at the Royal Premier of Quantum of Solace.
There are thousands of events happening all over the country as people decide to show their support, people who are prepared to get on and do something, to light a candle in the dark. Help for Heroes are staggered by the support and would like to say thank you to all of you who have made this work.

heyyy, i just want to say even though i don't support the war etc, i DO support our guys over there. the fact i think the war is illegal/wrong etc is NOT a reflection on the brave guys fighting for us, but instead on the w*nkers sending them there, not providing enough funding etc.
I am so proud of the heroes ignore the twat below i wear my wrist band all the time never take it off u mite not like why they are there tough every one of these guys deserve our respect i know a young boy 19yrs been to afghan twice and he came home and he could not more proud of all of us turning out to welcome him and his buddies home i will never stop supporting them

Well done all our troops fighting for our safety, our freedom and our rights and goddam those like the guy below who abuse the very rights you fight for and provide for them. I don't see them fighting for anything worthwhile or fighting for anyone other than their selfish selves. Well done boys, I wear my wristband 24/7 with immense pride and the deepest respect, and woe betide anyone who says otherwise in my presence. Love to all of our troops fighting for us, wherever they may be
Showing my support to all!
