- Ok, so a bit about me - trained in an excellent wedding, portrait & commercial studio in Lincoln about 22 years ago when everything was film and darkroom, but went into other things including tree-surgery and IT for a few years. Went back into photography full time 3 years ago and haven't looked back, doing a fair bit of freelancing for the Forres Gazette, busy booking Weddings for 2009 / 2010 and getting busier with commercial work which was always my first love. My eldest son made me a Granddad in April which I haven't necessarily forgiven him for, even though my Granddaughter is beautiful (takes after me of course) and my youngest son is busy studying engineering in Edinburgh from whence he'll move into a highly paid position and keep me in comfort in my old age (I'll now wait and see how often he checks his Bebo page for comments

- Not too active these days, not enough hours in the day. Still do Archery, but going to the Gym, practicing Aikido have all gone on the back burner, only watch football when I'm out taking pic's of the game

- dropping my camera, walking up hills (I was brought up in Lincolnshire), Apple selling out to Microsoft

- Pretty happy most of the time really, life's good.

I seem to have spent more time recently fixing bloody PC's than taking photo's, Windows sucks, Mac Rules! Trying to get a collective of writers together for freelance travel articles which is a fun project. Catching up
It's been a while since I had a blether so here goes. Apart from the usual round of editing and getting pictures out, I've just built a new website for Forres Camera Club, for those who are curious about such things and have got nothing better to do,

It's a bit sparse with the content at the moment, but will fill up with more (hopefully) interesting items as time goes by.
For those who don't know, there's been a meeting about a planned development in the Bogton Road area of Forres, now I'm not particularly politically minded, but it seems to me that the developers ideas are not that great, so I've set up a Bebo page for those that are interested and you can see it at www.bebo.com/BogtonR

Aldi Parking Charges in Elgin
I've been asked to write something about the parking fines at Aldi in Elgin, whilst I certainly wouldn't advocate refusing to pay legally applied parking fines, there seems to be some dispute about how legally Private Parking Companies (PPC's) operate as they have to obtain your personal information from the DVLA for which they pay a nominal fee. Now under the Data Protection Act there seems to be a case for the DVLA having breached the act by selling on this information. Now I'm no legal eagle and wouldn't like to get into the niceties of this argument, but I can direct anybody who may be interested to the following site to read more about it - http://forums.pepipoo.com/index.php?...

Hi John, 'sold' that article to Singletrack. Will let you know what pics he's using and will be needing you for a 'family' bike shoot! Also the local lads have built a cracking downhill course so will be up there next week to build up my techy skills! Hope your keeping busy!

Hi John, long time no see! Nice job with the skin. How do you get so much onto it without running over the 40kb limit? I do save for web and devices but there's a lot more I'd like to do on mine. Got taken out for a meal to Chapter One last sunday, food was out of this world! Hope you're keeping busy! Just finished a 'report' for the Board at Inverness Leisure Centre, so will now be on tender hooks until I get a a yae or nae! (It's part funded by the Highland Council! If I can get pole dancing past the bible bashing fraternity I should get a medal!) Been stuck with stinking cold, it's going away - gradually!
