Ok, I've decided that I will share my special Spag Bol recipe with all u beboers out there so that u can see for yourselves whether I am a good chef or not. I've been making my mean Spag Bol for 12 years now, since I was 15 actually and throughout the years I've been making improvements.

Ingredients
200 gms minced beef or lean minced beef
2 onions
5 cloves of garlic (I love my garlic)
Olive oil
8 streaks of smoked bacon
Sieved tomato passata with garlic and herbs (can be bought in Tescos for 30p a carton - a great substitution for tinned tomatoes!!!!)
Tomato puree
500 mls French red wine (used at room temperature)
Oregano
Italian Seasoning
Freshly ground black pepper
Spaghetti

Method
1) Firstly, heat the olive oil in a frying pan and then chop up the bacon into fine slices. Simmer for about 5 minutes.
2) While the bacon is simmering, slice the onions into fine onion rings (it looks much more gourmet if you slice the onions as opposed to chopping up). Add to the bacon and simmer for 10 minutes.
3) While the mixture is simmering away, chop up and crush the garlic finely and then add to the mixture. Be careful not to overcook the garlic as it will destroy the flavour. Garlic cooks very quickly so only simmer for 1-2 minutes, then add the minced beef.
4) Cook the minced beef at full heat until it all goes brown. Cover the frying pat and drain the excess fat. Return to the heat.
5) Add the tomato passata and mix well. Pour in 500 mls of red wine and then season. Mix well.
6) Add in the tomato puree until the sauce becomes a thick consistency which is exactly how it should ressemble. If the sauce doesnt become thick, keep adding in the tomato puree until thickness develops. Do NOT add in flour as the sauce will become lumpy.
7) Simmer for 45 minutes on low heat. Boil water in a pan and add salt and olive oil so that the pasta doesn't stick together. Boil for 12 minutes and then drain. Season with oregano and pepper and mix well.
Serve with the sauce and garnish with grated cheese and parmesan cheese. Bon appetit!

This dish can be served with an organic green salad and cheesy garlic bread which are my favourite side dishes. This dish is also best drunk with red wine. The secret about this dish is that if u leave it until the next day to eat, it tastes much more delicious as the wine will have had time to soak and saturate the flavour of the sauce.
