  • How to make the perfect cheese on toast, when its all stringy and nice :P

    Ingredients
    High-quality, thick-sliced bread
    Mild cheese

    Steps
    Put the grill on High (or whatever level you use for making toast). Never use a toaster, because the cheese will get stuck in the toaster. A toaster oven also works really well.
    Grate some cheese, while you're waiting for it to heat. Don't chop it with a knife, just grate it. Spread it all over two slices of bread so it covers all the edges, but don't use too much!
    When the oven's hot, put the bread under the grill. Feel free to make yourself a cup of tea. Pull out the grill every two minutes until the cheese is perfectly toasted. (If you prefer; you can toast one side of the bread first (as is the tradition of 'Cheese on Toast'))
    Turn off the grill.
    Take out the pieces of cheese on toast, put on a plate, sit and eat.



    Tips
    To tell when your cheese is melted enough, it should be yellow all over - Cheese colored! If it's got little wells in it and bits of fat nesting inside it, it will taste greasy and horrible. So always keep an eye on your toast.
    For a little extra flavor, splash a little sauce over the cheese after you take it out of the oven, or grate some black pepper over it.
    Variations on this dish include heating baked beans/spaghetti and pouring it all over the cheese on toast; adding sliced tomatoes before toasting; or even adding tomato sauce!

    Stay near the oven and always turn it off after using.
    Not advised for children who don't know how to use the oven safely.
    Adults - supervise your children!
    Beware, this food will be hot.
    Be careful choosing your cheese - don't go too mature or it won't melt, making an icky and pointless mess.
