- Militia formed in the summer of 2006. Their blend of energetic riffing, tight rhythms and progressive-melodic structures gained them a reputation in the local Fife circuit.
Based in Dunfermline the band rehearsed at Tower House youth centre where they recorded their first demo CD. (the STAND IN LINE demo) After gigging solidly for a year, the band made a conscious decision to stand back, rethink and start from scratch to redefine their sound. A more original take on what good rock should be.
It was now summer 2007, and so they began to write a brand new set, completely scrapping their old songs. They ended up with around nine songs and the next step would be to record them. And this would take several months to even get off the ground due to a number of set-backs. The band made the choice not to carry on gigging through this period and so it became a long anxious winter... When the time finally came, Militia headed into the studio to record their first EP. Producing it themselves, they picked the best five songs from their set and would call the EP 'More Fool You'. Their sound was now more focused, with more of an emphasis on vocals and overall song-writing while maintaining that powerful band tone.
The future looks bright for Militia and next on the agenda is for the band to get back into the groove of playing live again.
