- CONCERNED FAMILIES AGAINST DRUGS are a community-based lobby group formed last month in Ardoyne to tackle the the growing problem of illicit drug misuse across North Belfast. We consist of local parents, residents and community activists who want to see a safer area free from drugs, for everyone young and old.
AIMS & OBJECTIVES
Raise awareness about drugs & how they contribute to anti-social activity and criminality.
Provide support for families suffering the negative effects of drugs.
Breakdown the taboo associated with drugs and it's links to mental health and suicide.
Lobby to improve existing youth, community and health facilities.
Promote a safer community for everyone.

I work with the Community Drug Programme in west belfast, we offer training for all ages, on all types of drugs, legal or illegal. you can contact us at 90202030, just ask for Fra Barry if you legalise cannabis the dealers will only substitute this with another drug to make up the money that they are losing. Rem, drugs are not dangerous because they are illegal, they are illegal because they are dangerous!!!

Im against most forms of drugs.But I do think it would be a good thing if weed and canibus where legalised as it would be a serious blow to crime and would make the economy stronger while the scumbags got weaker.

Kieran, Thanks for your comments. Even though we don't agree with most of what you say, UR still entitled to hold your opinions chara. The reasons why the cops aren't bothered is because they have never cared for you, me or this community....whereas we do, and we'd like to give young people like U and others an alternative to using drugs. We strongly believe that grass or blow is dangerous to you mate and there is plenty of evidence to support that. Maybe it's not destroying UR life as it is now but sadly, many lives have been badly damaged by drug use! CFAD are not against young people we're against drugs and if we can convince one person how damaging they really are....then we've been successful! We're available anytime U wish to talk or help others!
Would like to say that i think the teenagers of the district need a drop in centre again like the pop bar. Youth clubs are for younger kids so teens dnt want to go there so a drop in centre could be a wee den for the older ones. The district needs to get some funding for this.
