AzzA (Aaron Cowper) New Zealand’s shining star emerging from the underground.
AzzA was born Aaron Cowper on the 6th of June 1987 and grew up in Hamilton New Zealand. He was raised by a single mother and while home life was supportive yet tough at times and although AzzA learned love and commitment through his home he was led to find the kids in the streets of Hamilton running life with acts of anger and retribution. He knew that he was different from them and felt the isolation. However what he was yet to discover was that he had something that they did not.
Azza had passion.
AzzA struggled within a school system that was suited only to academic achievement, a system that railed against his vision and tried to steal his time and all the while offered nothing real in return for the disrespectful devastation of his committed life’s purpose. So AzzA took a brave step and he left school to follow his dream and nurture the only truth he had…his music.
Even through experiencing poverty, and being blocked by a New Zealand music industry that seemed inaccessible to him, AzzA maintained a resolve and a commitment to his craft. This passion released the floodgates to his potential, and his competence and body of work has increased exponentially. The net became a reality and AzzA began to carve out his place amongst the forerunners in the hip hop industry. Operating a home recording studio, recording other artists, creating unique beats and lyrics, and blending it all to create stand alone music developed to a world class standard, AzzA is talent.
With the release of his latest album, and his DVD Run the game, the ensuing daylight will show that
AzzA personifies emergence.
Having seen his 21st birthday, it is time for AzzA to share both his birth rite and his gift to this country….his music.
