Información
One of Scotland's most exciting new bands, Electric Drugstore were formed in Cumbernauld in 2005. Comprising vocalist and guitarist David McKellar, his brother Stephen on bass, John Reid on lead guitar, David Stone on drums and Gareth Jamieson on keys, the band take their influences from the raucous, rambunctious likes of The Faces, Primal Scream and The Doors.

On the lookout for a new project after the break-up of his old band The Rising - which included members of Shed Seven and The Seahorses - frontman David McKellar returned to his native Scotland to find his brother Stephen's band fully-formed and in the ascendant, lacking only a frontman to round off the line-up. Common sense prevailed, and with the addition of David's rasping, soulful vocals, Electric Drugstore were born.

It didn't take long for Electric Drugstore's old school, good-time rock n' roll to win over admirers; the band gigged extensively around Glasgow, supporting the likes of The Bluetones, the Dykeenies, Candi Payne, Little Barrie and The Draytones. Early acclaim came from XFM Scotland's Jim Gellatly, The Inspiral Carpets' Clint Boon and even indie legends Shed Seven, who took the band on tour with them last year, leading to an awesome homecoming show at the legendary Barrowlands ballroom.

The next logical step was to release a single, and last November's debut AA-side 'Pull The Trigger'/'Rise And Fall' was it. Chosen to be the flagship release for Firewater Records, a new Glasgow label set up in conjunction with the influential Glasgow venue of the same name, it was successful in introducing the band to a larger audience, and whetting the appetite for more.

More is at last here in the form of 'What Goes Around', the band's second single. A filthy slice of whiskey-pickled, booze-bruised delta blues, it promises to up the ante even further for Electric Drugstore. Recorded, produced and mixed by David McKellar and Gareth Jamieson at Paul's Halls studio in Cumbernauld and mastered at Abbey Road, it is backed with a home demo of the breezy, beautiful 'If You Know Me', a new song that hints at the musical depth of the band.
With more gigs scheduled and an album on the horizon, what went around for Electric Drugstore seems to be coming around quickly…
