WWE Extreme Rules (April 2010) PPV Review
Even though PD, Davin and myself are hard at work making a new site thanks to Bebo's impending closure at the end of May, I thought I'd pen my thoughts on the latest WWE PayPerView offering.
WWE Extreme Rules 2010
Just a few weeks after WWE's biggest show of the year, Vince McMahon has decided to add Backlash (a wrestlemania rematch PPV) and June's Extreme Rules (B-grade gimmick match PPV) into one, giving us an "Extreme Rules" PPV at the end of April, one night before WWE shuffle the deck with the Draft the next night on RAW. With previous gimmick PPVs such as "Hell in a Cell" in mind, you knew that WWE would not spill any blood intentionally, no match would actually be barbarric or extreme, and expectations are much lower than at WrestleMania; but you also knew that not only are the feuds now a month down the line -- so the competitors are more familiar with each other and will strive to out-do their last PPV performance, but that some feuds will have to end tonight (thanks to the draft)...So the PPV definitely has potential to be a very decent PPV. So was Extreme Rules a pleasing slobberknocker or a horror show?
Surprisingly, WWE start the PPV with Triple H's music; but does anyone really believe his match will be the curtain jerker? Cut to backstage where Sheamus is beating up Tripper with a steel pipe; and we're to believe he's too injured to wrestle. Sheamus has been using a steel pipe as his weapon of choice (much like Scott Steiner) and we're told (on the live PPV) by Michael Cole that "that was live"....which really makes me suspicious that these backstage Sheamus/Triple H segments were shot earlier today...or Michael Cole is Captain Obvious...
ShowMiz in a gauntlet match
So WWE then start the PPV much like a RAW, where ShowMiz cut a promo about being left off the card. Teddy Long apparently is very busy booking (he must be the only authority figure available right now!) and say that ShowMiz will have a gauntlet match, and whoever beats ShowMiz will face them for the titles tomorrow night on RAW....(yup, building for free TV on the PPV!). Truth/Morrison were out first; Morrison gets DQ'ed after 3 minutes while using a pretty impressive armbar (DQ on Extreme Rules!), 2nd team was Mark Henry and MVP, which lasted 2 minutes thanks to Show's punch, and then the Hart Dynasty (with Bret) come out and immediately hit a modified Hart Attack and get the pin and the tag title shot tomorrow night on RAW.
Result : The Hart Dynasty wins in a short, storyline match.
Hair Match [If Punk is defeated he loses his hair] - Rey Mysterio vs. CM Punk
There's nothing on the line for Mysterio if he loses, as it was a way for the losing CM Punk to get another chance at Mysterio. Rey's wearing some kind of Demolition-style S&M outfit; which is kinda cool lookin'. The match goes 16 minutes in a pretty good match; very solid but a bit slower than what I would've wanted. It was definitely better than their WM offering (which went about 6 minutes). Punk dominated most of the match, there were a ton of reversals and the finish had a mystery caucasian (bald headed; emphasising a new SES member) who was able to distract the referee and incapacitate Mysterio; and Punk hit a sloppy-looking GTS for the 3-count.
Result : Punk wins in a very good enounter.
Strap Match - JTG vs Shad.
Thankfully this match only lasted 5 minutes, and was booked the way -every- strap match is booked (the other competitor hits the turnbuckles without the other seeing, and gets the surprise 4th turnbuckle for the win)...nobody cared about the match, and rightly so. Since Shad is the bigger dude, has a new theme and a new-ish look, you'd expect he'll go much farther than JTG; but both are pretty useless. I can't see either lasting the next year in WWE.
Result : JTG picks up the win in a nothing match.
(Racial overtones aside, but after the black vs black strap match, they have an ad for KFC's frie0 Comments 159 weeks

BEBO TO CLOSE BY MAY, 2010
The worst news we could hear, Bebo will be closing down in under a month. Since this is a purely time and fiscal decision, the outlook is very bleak. It's unfortunate because Bebo is the #1 social networking site here, in the UK, New Zealand, amongst others. But for the rest of the world, it's "Who are they? Oh well"...
...here's the news
AOL is giving notice that it will make its annual filing for Bebo in the UK with Companies House tomorrow. That filing will show that the online giant is looking at a “sale or shutdown of Bebo in 2010″, a property it bought in 2008 for $850m.
In a message sent to employees today, the company said:
“The strategy we set in May 2009 leverages our core strengths and scale in quality content, premium advertising and consumer applications, positioning us for the next phase of growth of the Internet. As we evaluate our portfolio of brands against our strategy, it is clear that social networking is a space with heavy competition, and where scale defines success. Bebo, unfortunately, is a business that has been declining and, as a result, would require significant investment in order to compete in the competitive social networking space. AOL is not in a position at this time to further fund and support Bebo in pursuing a turnaround in social networking. AOL is committed to working quickly to determine if there are any interested parties for Bebo and the company’s current expectation is to complete our strategic evaluation by the end of May 2010.”
more news :
Bebo will be one of the first casualties of social notworking competition, with AOL set to either sell it off or just close it down.
This comes only a couple of years after AOL bought Bebo for $850 million to compete with Facebook and MySpace. The news was broken in an email to AOL employees, with the full content of the memo printed in the Silicon Valley Insider.
AOL's Jon Brod said, "As we evaluate our portfolio of brands against our strategy, it is clear that social networking is a space with heavy competition, and where scale defines success.
"Bebo, unfortunately, is a business that has been declining and, as a result, would require significant investment in order to compete in the competitive social networking space.
"AOL is not in a position at this time to further fund and support Bebo in pursuing a turnaround in social networking."
Bebo always had a tough battle to compete with the all-conquering Facebook, and with a lack of funding from AOL it had an impossible task. Even MySpace, with the backing of Rupert Murdoch, is having its own difficulties and falling behind in the social notworking race.
Its target base of younger teenagers was great for Bebo at its peak, but as Facebook has grown in size and funding support even this youth audience has flocked to a community where 'everybody' can be connected.3 Comments 162 weeks

April 23rd Live TNA House Show Albany, GA
by
SAve Us
Place: Albany Civic Center1 Reply 160 weeks
Time: 7:30 P.M Eastern
Date: April 23rd
Event: TNA
Featured Performers: Rob Van Dam, AJ Styles, Jeff Jarrett, Mr. Anderson, and many more
Well let's get this thing kicking off, I go to so many wrestling live shows a year whether they are televised, ppv, or live however I never had a camera to capture the moment this marks my first wrestling show ever with a camera. I was so excited because this not only confirms that I went to the wrestling event it shows just how awesome it is when I come back to do reviews. Going into this wrestling event from TNA past Live Event from 09 in Macon it delivered I was expecting something similar to that one about 4 boring matches and 3 matches that really delivered. I wasn't expecting a big lighting and stage like WWE even though you can defiantly tell the difference from the shows. However TNA brought in a staggering 500 plus to the event which is no where near selling out our Civic Center like the WWE did in Dec. but hey what can you expect.
Anywho I got the meet and greet package to visit a good portion of the TNA roster, get their autographs, take pictures, and even have personal group sessions with them talk to them which was fun. The coolest people to meet live are Don West, Jeremy Borash, Jeff Jarrett, Matt Morgan, Tara and AJ Styles; The Worst for me has to be: Alex Shelley, Chris Sabin, Abyss, James Storm, and thats about it and thats just because of their attitudes maybe they were having a bad day or something but they was not happy.
The show kicks off with Jeremy Borash making AJ Styles a heel saying he didn't want any of us to come backstage to get tickets which is great because there was no way the people were going to booooo AJ in his home state if he didn't!
Match 1: James Storm vs. Abyss
The show kicks off in my opinion a good match on paper Storms vs. Abyss not Main Event Status but defiantly not a boring match. James Storm comes out to a babyface pop where have these people been he's a heel now lol but Storm goes along with it and hypes us up for Backstage tickets than rips them and say SORRY ABOUT YO DAMN LUCK classic anywho Abyss comes out to a Large Pop with Hogan Music. Great Match Storms looked strong not just a one sided match, Abyss hits a huge chokeslam, get the crowd involves throughout the match including the AbyssMania Hulk Up which leads to a Blackhole Slam for the win Good Match to kick off the show!
Match 2: Desmond Wolfe vs. Jay Lethal
Boy was I excited for this match right here; Huge Wolfe fan he had me nervous the entire night he gave me goosebumbs seeing him live but Wolfe is being boooo out the building, while Lethal is getting a huge ovation I thought he was fired but hes working house shows. Anywho I had high expectations for this match and it delivered Wolfe worked on the arm and the shit he does on TV he really do it live twisting the arm its so fast and if you blink you miss it look painful too, Lethal sold it well as well as huge suicide dives through the middle ropes, missed a elbow drop on the top rope, interaction with the fans and a lethal combination, however Tower of London came out of nowhere when Lethal tried the 2nd Elbow drop for the win! Show Stealer capabilities
Match 3: Tara w/Hometown Manager vs. ODB
I was mad I didn't see The Beautiful People tonight however if I wanted some good wrestling who better than Tara and ODB to give it to us so I was excited about this. ODB gets a huge crowd reaction from the fans as she shows off her titties to kids and flash them in my face. Tara gets an even bigger pop with the spider and now we are set to go, Tara and ODB equally control the match which makes it seems like it could go either way with ODB doing the broncobuster was hott, and she did the Pussy Implant, Tara did a huge moonsault but ODB kicked out, Tara hit a Widows Peak but ODB still kicked out amazing everyone was on there feet towards the last seconds. ODB was closing out for the -

Old School Wrestling
It was my long awaited purchase of another ROH DVD,it had been nearly a year since i had bought one and SOH had come highly recommended. Here is a quick recap2 Replies 161 weeks
Erick Stevens vs Rhett Titus
The show was kicked of by this nice tidy fast paced match up,Titus is using some sort of Val Venis/Rick Rude on acid gimmick which is hilarious. Stevens looked impressive no more so when he hit his Cho Cho variation of the Popes DDE which i thought was awesome.
Winner: Erick Stevens in a good opener.
(Chris Hero & Eddie Edwards) & Incognito vs Jay Briscoe, Kevin Steen & Magno
The top rope snapped severely limiting this match,it basically broke down into a brawl for the majority of the match. No real strong showings from anyone with the exception of maybe Steen & Magno.
Winner: Hero,Edwards & Incognito in an average match at best hampered by the ring malfunction.
Roderick Strong vs Katsuhiko Nakajima
Loved the match from start to finish,Nakajima flew around that ring like a madman killing Strong with some hard kicks. Strongs chops were brutal to watch, not in the sense of bad but painful. Nakajimas chest was ripped to shreds with broken blood vessels
Awesome.
Winner: Roderick Strong in a 5 star match that complimented both men.
Bobby Dempsey vs. Kamala
Nice little comedy match that never started,i did MARK out for Kamala though
Winner: No contest
Claudio Castagnoli vs Blue Demon Jr.,vs Brent Albright vs El Generico in a Four Corner Survival Match
The first stinker of the night. CC never really showed up with his A game. Neither did the current & former NWA World Champions Blue Demon or Brent Albright. Star of the show El Generico carried the match with some flash moves though.
Winner: Claudio Castagnoli in a stinkfest
Bryan Danielson vs Alex Koslov
A pretty decent match that seemed like it took forever to get going. Both men played the crowd with the Russian/USA angle. The fans chanting "Your gonna get your head kicked in" was hilarious
Koslov looked impressive i must say. Danielsons submissions & kicks were also impressive.
Winner: Bryan Danielson in decent encounter.
D-Lo Brown vs Colt Cabana
Another dud,Scotty Goldman or should i say Colt Cabana had a good outing but Dlo did nothing of any use at all. Thank god it wasnt on for any longer.
Winner: Dlo Brown in a forgettable match
KENTA vs Davey Richards
My long awaited first KENTA match lived up to hype big time. Davey Richards is like a carbon copy of Dynamite Kid & Chris Benoit. Both men spend about 5 minutes feeling each other out before they tear into each other like two bulls vying for a mate..NO JOKE. KENTA hits a variation of a front suplex of the apron on to the mat outside
I cant put into words how stiff this match was,KENTA nails Richards with a proper GTS for a win.
Winner: KENTA in possibly the Greatest Match of 2009 ive ever seen
Austin Aries & Jimmy Jacobs vs Tyler Black & Necro Butcher
This was a sloppy match that never had a chance of going over as the match it followed was out of this world. There were some nice exchanges between Jacobs & Tyler Black but not enough to save the match.
Winner: Austin Aries & Jimmy Jacobs in a dud.
Jerry Lynn vs Nigel McGuinness(c)
A great way to end the event. My man Jerry Lynn showed why he still has what it takes to go with all the top guys in ROH. Nigel nails Lynn with a Tower of London on the outside from the apron that looked awesome...This is Awesome!
Winner: Jerry Lynn and new ROH World Champion.
Overall: It was well worth the money i forked out for it just to see KENTA/Richards & Jerry Lynn wining the World Championship. There w -
Smackdown WrestleMania Revenge Tour Glasgow Apr '10 Review
by
Innes Macleod
We got there about half 6, it was very busy but we got in fairly quick. It was pretty much full house. Seats were pretty good, on the floor, right beside the entrance so we got an awesome view of them coming out.3 Replies 162 weeks
Kicked off at half 7 with Tony Chimel welcoming us to SmackDown (He is really short btw!) Then all of a sudden, Kane's music went off and burst through the curtain, i literally spooged
Actually seeing Kane in real life was so cool, Ezekiel then came out and the match started
Started off with a test of strength wich Big Zeke won, he posed then got the hell booed out of him, he gave the fans some abuse, Kane came back in and gave him a smack, it was back and fore for a few moments before Kane brought out the moves, bodyslam, dropkick, clothesline from top rope, Zeke rolled out the ring, rolled back in then Zeke had a sort of freak accident and just fell on the canvas, Kane pins him and wins. It was only about 3-4 mins match, was quite disappointed i didnt see a Chokeslam or a Zeke Bomb but you cant help an injury i suppose. EMT's attended to Zeke and helped him to the back, audience clapped and gave him a good ovation.
Next was Layla vs Beth Phoenix. WOW Beth is sexy in real life!
Just the usual Beth Phoenix match, showing off her strength, Body press, Glam Slam 1-2-3. She posed and walked back, i ran to the barricade to catch a glimpse of that ass!
WOW!
Next was Hart Dynasty vs Caylen Croft and Trent Barretta. Pretty awesome viewing, Croft and Barretta had the better hand, beating down on Tyson Kidd, crowd got pretty into it chanting for Tyson, then a DH Smith chant got going, Tyson finally got the tag and DH cleared house, Croft and Barretta roll out the ring, Tyson runs the ropes and DH throws him over, pretty cool. |Good back and forth after that, before they both got the Sharpshooters on Croft and Barretta and both tapped.
Next was R-Truth vs Dolph Ziggler, good match, cant remember much, I think Truth won with a small package
Luke Gallows then came out and dedicated the next match to CM Punk, John Morrison then entered, good solid match, before CM Punk came out and started beating on JoMo. Rey Mysterio then ran out with a steel chair and made the save. They then agreed to a tag match later on in the show, Rey and JoMo then walked to the back, i got a handshake of JoMo
I was delighted!!
I then spotted Finlay sitting at the back with a headset on, gave him a wee wave, he then disappeared
There was a short intermission for 15 mins, i went to get myself a hot dog and an Edge t-shirt - EPIC!!
When i got back in, Drew McIntyre was in the rting, i was peeved i missed his entrance but i just got back to my seat when he started speaking. He went on about how his dream was to wrestle for the WWE in Scotland....... but not anymore!
He moved to America and basically said he is better than all of us, saying he is the only person that Scotland should be proud of and then went on about how the country is full of neds or something! Pretty good stuff!
Matt Hardy then came out to a good ovation, good solid back and fore action before Hardy went into his wee mode where he gets battered before trying to mount a comeback then getting destroyed, McIntyre did his DDT finisher and walked to the back victorious!
Next was the S.E.S vs Rey & JoMo, great match, JoMo and Festus(
) had good stuff going on before Gallows got the better of Morrison and started beating on him, he tagged in Punk and he continued the assault. JoMo finally tagged Rey and the kids went nuts for him, he did his usual springboard stuff etc went for a 619 and Sarina got in the way, Punk ran towwards him but Rey reversed into a takedown and got the 619, springboard splash and the cover
Chimel then announced about The Marine 2 release date and promoted Extreme Rules on Sky Sports
Main Event Jack Swagger comes out with his new awesome serious gimmick( Man, he is huge!!) Got to the ring and started bitching ab

Bebo Wrestling Network
Welcome to the Bebo Wrestling Network!
Online Wrestling is a genre of role-playing games set in professional wrestling, played out in a federation here on Bebo since 2006. The game is played by creating your very own fictional wrestling character, choosing their name, gimmick, picture base and move set. You then choose the federation(s) you wish to join by completing a sign up on their blog. At this point you are now an official member of the promotion and are available to compete on their weekly shows in the form of completing a promo/role play (a wrestling segment involving your character).
In our top friends are the current active federations on Bebo.
In our video box, is a tutorial video which further explains how to get started in the world of Online Wrestling.
To further understand the role you play as an online wrestler, have a look at the OW Handbook! -

Lol! AvP is well-made, nothing spectacular. I'm sure it's cheap now! The Predator noises and mode is pretty cool. Enjoying Red Dead a lot, biggest grievance is that you kill a lot of people, unlike in GTA 4 where you just 'disable' them, they're still alive. The game's friggin awesome! Is anywhere on Bebo still active?
