Gabador Warehouse Gig
So the Gabador Warehouse gig was freaking awesome! We were headlining for "The Rebels" and we started off our set with Tool's "Lateralus". Pete kicked this off on stage by himself with his new looper pedal! Was wicked and then Josh jumped on the keys as it got more and more intense. This built up and finally The Bridge jumped on the kit and played some fat ass drum beat. This eventually got overly intense and so we played some Muse for the people! Lateralus went straight into Feeling Good which went really well even though Pete's Strat screwed up in the beginning. It was then time for some originals and we pulled out our original, which goes unnamed but we tend to call it "Hip-hop Concerto".. We find it funny. It was awesome and it segued straight into another original which i guess could be called rambling, or according to a member of the audience, "space jazz". We thought the audience wouldnt exactly appreciate our slow awesome melodic jazz with pete rambling over the top, but they responded well and it called for some reggae, another original but we stole lyrics from Cat Empire's "Rhyme and Reason". This featured Peter skanking all over the stage! He got really into it, it was great! After the two or so hours of applause and straight screaming we played some sweet blues. Jimi Hendrix wrote a song called Red House. We played it. We jammed. It was awesome. Another original appeared out of the blue and we played a song we like to call epic jam. It was epic. This was probably the most rocky song of the songs we played, and of course the most epic. Finally we played Red Shoes, our rockquest song, and when we finished this, there was an encore. Of course this was completely unexpected but we decided on another Hendrix song, Voodoo Child. In the beginning this resembled something of Voodoo Child but it suddenly became an improvised funk breakdown and some would say seeing us create music out of nothing live on stage was the highlight of the night. This is the beauty of live performance ladies and gentlemen and for me the beauty of being in such a tight group like Blue in Green. We finished the encore and people just wanted more. There was no doubt about it, they wanted some more blues and we played Tin Pan Alley by Stevie Ray Vaughn. After this we needed a beverage and decided to farewell the stage. The gig was crazy, just wish we saw some more of our regulars, but it was great to see Anthony.. topless as always, Luke.. cheers for the tasty beverage, Tiffanny and Grace who were definately the loudest there, Jing.. complete invulnerability, and of course Piggy! Your awesomeness inspires us all! Pictures and videos should be coming shortly. Next Gabador Warehouse gig coming up on October 25. Hope to see you there!
