- Junah are an Irish 5 piece alternative rock band based in Dublin. The band is comprised of Mick Smyth (vocals, guitar, piano); Graham Smyth (guitar, vocals, piano); Tony Jones (guitar, piano); Robert Gray (bass); and Loik Moisan (drums). Since forming in 2005, Junah’s sound has matured into the distinctive melodic repertoire they have today. Their sound has been described as “harmonizing beautifully….with excellent material…..original and insightful”. Dermod Moore Hotpress.
Junah release their debut single ‘Low La Day’ on the 12th of June in Tower Records of Dublin, with an instore performance at 5pm. They will also launch the single in Whelan’s upstairs on the 13th of June; the single will be available for purchase from Tower Records and downloadmusic.ie from June 12th.
As well as supporting major national and international artists and performing on a European tour in the summer of 2008, Junah have also been stirring interest, and drawing an increasingly larger audien

Single Pre-Release
Hello Hello,
We have just given our debut single a pre-release, so if your living in Ireland you can Text "Music 3108" to 57501, it only cost €1. Alternatively if you live outside Ireland you an visit wwcdbaby.com/junah and buy "Low La Day" in its physical format, or download it from all of cdbaby's partners including iTunes, Amazon etc where it will be available sometime in the next week or so, so just keep an eye out.
Tomorrow will see the official release of the single in Ireland. It will be available in Tower Record's (Wicklow Street, Dublin), where we will be performing an instore gig at 5pm.
The main launch for the single will however be in Whelan's (upstairs) on Saturday 13th June. Doors will be 8pm and well have very special guests joining us on the night:

This launch is FREE in, I know it seems cheap, but thetas just the kinda people we are.

Single Release Announced
It's finally come, Junah's debut single "Low La Day" will be released on June 12th. There will be an instore gig in Tower Record's at 5pm that day and the single willl also be available for sale.
"Low La Day" will also be available via iTunes and downloadmusic.ie from 12pm Friday June 12th.

Recording, Fire and success
We figured the most eventful thing that could have happened during last night's recording would be we get an amazing track laid down, something so good that it would redefine how we look at the way we work forever.
Unfortunately that didn't happen, but we come close to achieving major press coverage as well as the most attention we've ever had, we just wouldnt' have been around to tour it.
We started off tracking "Shadow on the road", everything was going fine and normal. Bout' an hour and a half in, we could all start to smell a really horrible burning, then smoke started coming out of Rob's bass amp, (We had switched over to his old one to try get a nicer tone, but it hadn't been turned on in month's).
We have blankets set up around the room to try deaden the sound a bit, but one of them was fairly close to the plug board that Rob's amp was plugged into, now I'd be lyng if I said I knew exactly how it happened, but not long after Rob's amp started to smoke (talking 6 seconds or so), the blanket that was beside the plug board started to go up in flames.
As you can imagine there was a bit of a panic with five lads all kicking equipment out of the way and trying to stamp on this burning blanket. Lucky enough we managed to put it out. Unfortunately the blanket didn't make, it's gone where all good blankets who've caught fire go.
Apart from the smell and being minus a blanket and an old bass amp were pretty much back on track. Were just hoping now that this will give the rest of the recording's that kind of magic you can only get from putting €250,000 into the worlds best studio because something interesting happened there a long time ago, but chances are, probably not.0 Commentaren 223 dagen
