  • COA Presents Shockwave 29.11.09 [Part. 2]:

    Ricky Maine:
Ok great, I’m Mr. COA. Don’t get me wrong, this tournament has totally been beneficial to the evolution of THE MAINE EVENT, but now that I can drop the dead weight of those other six posers, it’s about damn time I got some real competition! I mean TK…bro, you’re my main man, but honestly, kicking the asses of guys nobody will remember by tomorrow is not how Ricky Maine wants to be remembered, so I want to say as of right now that Ricky Maine is offering up an open challenge to any of you sad sacks in the back that think I’m still some kind of newbie and can’t hold my own against the tougher, more competent half of the COA, hell the rest of OW. That’s right, you don’t even have to be apart of COA! You could be anybody and I’ll still put my best foot forward and do my best to hand your ass straight back to you! So without further ado…please if you have a pair, get your ass out here right now because Mr. COA wants to show he’s not just a flash in the pan, he’s here for the long haul!

    - Ricky’s valiant effort at making an open challenge to the entire world seems to fall on deaf ears momentarily, the ringside fans seem to be more sympathetic to Maine unlike the more distant viewers who laugh at failed attempts to make a name for himself, but finally, the ice is broken!

Papa Roach - Live This Down hits the speakers and from the back appears, of all people, Matt Rydell!? The prodigal son himself steps out from behind the dark curtain, the effervescent smug persona of his radiating off onto the fans that in turn return his arrival with a brandishing of distinct ‘YOU SUCK’ chants, accompanied by the usual booing, this seems to phase Rydell about as much as it usually doesn’t, and as casual as ever he stands atop the stage with a mic in hand whilst in the ring, Mr. COA watches on cautiously…

    Matt Rydell:
Ricky, Ricky, Ricky… Congratulations are obviously in order, but it’s like you said, you’ve spent what? The last 3 months of your COA career doing… nothing! Now you think after beating a bunch of nameless punks you’re suddenly on the same level as the rest of us!? You’ve got to be joking, just stick to what you’re good at Maine… which in fact is exactly what you’ve been doing in COA the last 3 months so you’d be used to it, that’s right. Just keep doing more… nothing!

    Ricky Maine:
Oh? Rydell’s got jokes does he? Well you know what Matty, I’ve got a joke too… otherwise known as your chances of unifying the Takedown and Conflict Championship belts later on tonight!

    - Deeply offended, Rydell paces the stage back and forth as Ricky singles out a fan whose laughing and gives him a wink, gesturing ‘Yeah, that was funny wasn’t it?’

    Matt Rydell:
Really Ricky… you think my chances at winning both Championship belts are just a joke? Well I’ve got news for you CHUMP, the only joke in this arena is YOU!

    Ricky Maine:
Well if you’re so sure of yourself, why don’t you come down here right now and prove it!

    Matt Rydell:
You naïve moron. You don’t call the shots around here, I do! Your insignificant ramblings are boring me Maine, but if it’s an ass kicking you want? Then fine! Next week on whatever the hell they’re calling Takedown these days, you may as well kiss whatever that is that you call a career goodbye because when I get through with you… you’ll become just like the rest of the guys you’ve ‘beaten’…nothing!

Papa Roach - Live This Down hits again and Matt Rydell throws his arms up as Maine looks on from the ring, a confidant smile, nodding his head eager for the competition as we jump backstage again as Blake Eradist is casually chatting up a one of the female staff members when his theme song echoes out through the concrete hallways and he dashes off to make his entrance which is soon followed by the entrance of his opponent, S

  • COA Presents Shockwave 29.11.09:

    Card Subjec to Change
    Date Promo's Due: 29.11.09
    Arena: Trent FM Arena.
    Location: Nottingham.
Commentary: Quentin Ritchmond & Brandon Kellher.
    Brand/s participating: Takedown & Conflict

    Two years in the making…
But the biggest shock of them all is yet to occur...
    Not a match…
    Not a superstar…
Shockwave, COA will never be the same again…

The lights drop in the Trent FM Arena and all eyes are on the Shockwave Titantron…

A video lights up and shows the intro to Takedown last week. The fans are electric as always, screaming and yelling to and fro. However, something seems to be missing, only the Takedown Plaza lights are on, there’s no pyrotechnics, no extravagant lighting circling around to create that Takedown atmosphere. In fact, even the Takedown Titantron itself is idle, it sits atop the stage looking down upon the thousands upon thousands of fans disapprovingly. It’s large black face, hiding it’s deep black judgmental eyes, but it doesn’t stir from its slumber which seems to confuse everybody in the arena…

We cross ringside where Takedown co-commentators ‘Dollar’ Bill Buckley along with Jeffrey Titsinter, much like the fans gawk around in a confused state. Bill goes to talk, and it flows freely from his mouth, but the folks at home can’t seem to hear any audio? With this adding to the lack of atmospheric lighting and pyrotechnics the crew backstage in the mixer truck are completely at wits end. Everybody looks from left to right, looking for somebody to blame to keep it away from themselves, but nobody can find a fault anywhere. Then suddenly, upon the screen the unthinkable happens…

    [TECHNICAL DIFFICULTIES]
    PLEASE STAND BY

Moments turn into seconds, seconds into minutes, and still the Takedown crew are unable to discover the source of the problem. Then, just when they thought it couldn’t get worse…

People began to get ushered out of the arena, and technical difficulties faded out into an old repeat of ‘Starsky & Hutch’. Takedown, for the first time ever…

    Had been cancelled!

    - The video fades out and we go centre of the ring awaiting Will Power to announce the first match. Unfortunately this doesn’t seem to be the case as the lights begin to focus of the ring itself and instead of either COA ring announcer we get another, unknown man, sharply dressed with a clipboard, perhaps a posing fan? The man holds a microphone in his other hand, and as he brings it to his mouth he pushes his glasses backward closer to his face…

    ?:
Excuse me…Excuse me please. My name is William Richardson and I… I would just like to explain a few things…

…A light hush falls over the shoulders of the crowd.

    William Richardson:
Primarily, I would like to inform you all on the details on why exactly Takedown was forced to close early before even beginning. You see Takedown…Takedown is dead. Takedown is flat broke, there is no money left within the pockets of TK Jones or Jarad Drakeley, Takedown was forced to close as the funding to keep the show afloat has landed in the negatives. Effective immediately, Takedown is no longer a franchise of Championship Online Alliance. Also effective immediately is the resignations of TK Jones and Jarad Drakeley as Co-Chairmen of Championship Online Alliance. Should either choose to neglect these demands, I will be forced to take legal action upon either or both of you!

    - Effective immediately, Papercut – Linkin Park hits the speakers, and TK Jones alongside Jarad Drakeley make their way out down the ramp and into the ring as the eyes of the anxious ‘A-holes’ watch them go by. Both pick up a microphone but Jones is the first to speak…

    TK Jones:
I’m sorry to disappoint you ‘William Richardson’ but me and my Co-Chairman here won’t be pushed around by some thug in a cheap suit and an extensive v

  • COA Presents Shockwave 30/11/08

    Card Subjec to Change
    Date Promo's Due: 30 / 11 / 08
Arena: The Shock Dome, Montreal Quebec Canada.
Commentary: David Andrews & Daniel Templeton.
    Brand/s participating: Tuesday Night Takedown.

In only its 2nd PPV COA hosts Shockwave at the Shock Dome in Canada. The Pyrotechnical team no doubt have an absolute field day seeing sparks fly from left, right & centre. The thousands crammed into the Shock Dome are on their feet screaming as loud as possible as it resounds around the entire building. Signs for various superstars like Ryan Ryles, Bryan Drum, Nick Falcon fill the skies as they wave about as the fireworks go off in the background. The camera zooms out to make sure to capture it all until finally cutting down to an eager commentary desk featuring the TNT commentary team of David Andrews & Daniel Templeton..

Templeton: Good evening ladies and gentlemen and welcome to the first ever COA Shockwave! My name is Daniel Templeton, here with my co-host David Andrews..
Andrews: Congratulations on making it this COA fans. Because tonight you’re going to be shocked to your very core. We have some huge matches lined up tonight like Bryan Drum vs. Trent Phoenix for the 2nd time as well as Owen Reid vs. Jay Atwood.
Templeton: You’re right there David, tonight will definitely be a historic night for many, but for some it will probably be a forgettable one..
Andrews: Well right now we have a great match-up.
Templeton: It’s two of COA’s rising stars facing off against eachother in an attempt to crown the other half of the Tag-Team Champions which is already being held by Spike Daniels.
Andrews: Well here we go, enjoy folks..

    Match 1:
Search For Spike Daniels Tag-Team Partner Match:
    Mickey Jones vs. Wayne Adams.
Both men make the most of their COA PPV debuts taking in the atmosphere that surrounds them. Wayne seems to be more focused on the match rather than the surroundings as he takes down Mickey with a brutal clothesline. Following it up with several stomps to the head and torso of Mickey. Wayne takes his aggression to the next level heading to the top rope and coming down with a knee from the up high. Mickey is conveniently conscious enough to see this coming and rolls out of harms way. Mickey grabs the tights of Wayne Adams putting him into a school boy roll-up, Mickey lunges for the ropes but is unsuccessful, Wayne rolls through putting Mickey on the receiving end of the pin. He too reaches for the 2nd rope and is successful, the referee is completely oblivious to this and counts the 1…2…3 for Wayne.

    Winner: Wayne Adams

Wayne leaps in the air realizing exactly what this win for him means. Consequently instead of him music being played it is the theme of Spike Daniels that plays. The man who owns this music swiftly appears at the top of the Shockwave ramp with a big smile reaching both sides. Clutching a tag-team title in both hands he commences his decent towards an awaiting Wayne Adams. Spike enters the ring dropping one title to shake the hand of the victorious Adams. Spike then calls for a microphone..

    Spike:
Well, congratulations are definitely in order then. Congrats Wayne, congrats on a great win here tonight in front of all these fans. So, as promised. I’d love to award this amazing Tag-Team championship to you.

Spike gestures to Wayne to take the remaining tag-team championship in his hand. Wayne reaches out and pulls on it. Spike doesn’t release his grip though. Instead, he pulls Adams in by the arm hoisting him up onto his shoulders. Wayne flails about but is unable to break free from Spikes hold. A brutal “Mosh Pit” silences any final protests from Wayne as Spike returns to his feet retrieving the mic once more as Wayne lies motionless..

    Spike:
Like I said, I would love to p
