THE 11:11 MISSION STATEMENT

We are a band with something to say, a message to send.

We are the voice of discontent.

We are the voice of anger and frustration.

We are the voice of the weak and the fallen.

We are the product of an open mind.

We are the end result of perception beyond that of media scaremongering and slander.

We are the sound of compassion.

We are the sound of our impending fate.

We are 11:11.

And we are the truth.

Hear our message.

  • 2010, Baby! New Shows, New Plans...

    Well Hello there!

It has been an amazingly long time since I wrote to this Blog, so forgive us for our selfishness. We have all been extremely busy over the festive period!

Well, I should pretty much leave this as concise as possible, as I am pretty busy planning some new things for the band. Here goes...

    1. WHERE HAVE WE BEEN
    2. OUTDATED MYSPACE
    3. SUPPORTING THE PLIGHT
    4. FRIENDS OF ANCHOR CHARITY SHOW
    5. I GOTTA FEELING...
    6. WE WILL PLAY ANYWHERE - READ THIS

    1. WHERE HAVE WE BEEN

If some of you haven't noticed already, we have taken a pretty long break since October 2009. There are a couple of reasons for this. Firstly, I had a pretty hard time shaking off a nasty throat infection, followed closely by the cold. This resulted in us having to pull out of our show with Not Advised and All Forgotten, and we have been pretty quiet since then.

We've been growing pretty tired of playing our same set over again, so we took the decision back then to cut off all shows for the rest of the year and focus on some writing. We've done that, and we are pretty happy with some of the ideas that we are kicking around. Although it hasn't happened as quickly as it did previously, we are getting there. I suppose it is a good thing that we aren't just rattling songs out, but are thinking a little more into them. We haven't quite fine tuned the ones we have written so far, but hopefully you can expect to hear them at some of our new shows. We are excited about them, so naturally we want to get them right and don't want to rush them.

December has been a really busy year for us all personally, so we are happy that January has come and we are able to focus on the band a whole lot more again.

    2. OUTDATED BEBO

Yes, I am aware that our Bebo and MySpace are now both outdated. Plans are being set in place to have them updated to a 2010 skin, which is currently being designed. The logo is already complete, if you haven't saw it already, you will soon.

    3. SUPPORTING THE PLIGHT

If you haven't heard or read already, we will be supporting The Plight at the Aberdeen leg of their tour at Transition Skatepark! We are fucking mega stoked about this, The Plight are an immense band and we really hope to see you all there. It shouldn't take much to sell this place out and pack the room, so ask us for tickets to save yourself a Booking Fee. If you do really want to pay extra to a booking fee, you can buy your tickets online at http://www.rawaberdeentickets.bigcar.... See our Upcoming Shows tab for full details.

    4. FRIENDS OF ANCHOR CHARITY SHOW

Not much on this, but I am currently helping in booking some bands for this year's Friends of Anchor Charity bash at Peterhead Football Club on Sunday 3 May 2010. We have already been confirmed to play and are really excited for this! Keep your eyes peeled here for full list of bands, prices etc shortly.

    5. I GOTTA FEELING...

    ... WILL be covered soon...

    6. WE WILL PLAY ANYWHERE - READ THIS

A short message to any fans from out in the sticks, or anywhere for that matter. If you have a local venue that hosts live bands (preferably who have their own PA), regardless of where you are and you want us to come play your City/Town/Village/Living Room, then please give us a shout and tell your local venue we exist! I'm pretty keen to reach people this year who aren't quite able, or don't want, to get to Aberdeen or other Cities to see some live rock music. You deserve to hear us too and we want to reach you, but we need your help in finding a place to play!

Anyways, that is about it for our update. Until the next time, please keep checking us out. We do still exist and we will be back very soon.

    Thanks for the support.

    Per Aspera Ad Astra.

  • 11:11 Pull Out Of all Forgotten Show - URGENT

    Guys and girls,

Very short message to let you all know that we have been forced to pull out of the All Forgotten/Not Advised show at Snafu, Aberdeen tomorrow (Wednesday 28 October 2009) due to matters outwith our control.

I am currently ill with what (hopefully) is just a cold, which has been accompanied by a nasty cough. The nasty cough has in turn ripped my vocal cords up pretty bad and there is just no way I'm going to be able to sing tomorrow.

Massive apologies to anyone who was intending to come and see us, although I would STRONGLY recommend still going, as this will be an amazing show. It's just a shame we won't be a part of it.

Instead of rehearsing for the set tomorrow, we are going to retreat into our home, and later to Captain Toms as we have a shed-load of new ideas that we are going to try and craft some new songs out of. Hopefully you will all be hearing some new sounds from us soon. As soon as we have a few new songs for you, we will be looking to book a few shows for you all to hear them. Until then, I think we will be keeping quiet. Lets just wait and see.

Full Blog is going to follow. Until then, let's just hope NHS 24 tell me I have a cold instead of Swine Flu...

    Big Sorry all round,

    Chris:Eleven

  • 11:11's Next Cover? You Decide!

    Hey all! Chris here.

I'm gonna leave this one short and sweet, as I always tend to ramble for ages on Blogs! :)

11:11 have boldly decided to allow fans to choose our next cover song to play to you all! Since we have so many ideas of songs we wanted to tackle, we couldn't decide what to choose! Therefore, we leave it down to you!

The Poll can be found here: http://www.bebo.com/PollView.jsp?Mem...

    You have the choices of:

    "Poker Face" by Lady Gaga
"Hot n Cold" by Katy Perry
"That's Not My Name" by the Tin Tings
"I Gotta Feeling" by The Black Eyed Peas

The Poll will run for TWO weeks from today, and will close on Tuesday 1 September 2009.

So lets get VOTING! MAKE YOUR VOICES HEARD! And feel free to comment on your choice!

Cheers for the support, folks. There will be some recordings on their way soon, so please keep checking this space and come to some shows.
