    • Can someone tell me which way is up?

      Because I really don't have a clue anymore.

      Needless to say it's been a rather wild ride over the past couple of months. I didn't know if I'd be coming back here or on any of my other sites. All I know is every time I thought about it I'd put it off again.

      Xmas has come and gone, Mia's first birthday was last week and I'm expecting a call any time over the next week or so to tell me sis has had her baby boy she's been carrrying.

      Even though the re-enacting season's not for another month or so i've been busy getting ready for that. We've a second cannon and carriage to finish sorting out by then and we've also been getting the new car sorted out. the new escort runs well though we've had to replace a shock absorber this week.

      Work's busy as ever, I'm doing the better part of 40 hours a week now, as well as helping out with Rich's businees and doing miles on the bike every day in spite of the back and knee problems that are steadily getting worse.

      Mentally, I'm about where I've usually been. Not knowing what my mood is from one day to the next and sinking a hell of a lot of energy to stop myself slipping backwards again.

      Not really much to say and i'm not feeling all that talkative to be honest. Trying to focus and force myself into getting around on here's not really working that well and my mind's very much distracted.

    • It begins

      Yup, yesterday I finally began doing the Xmas shopping, feck help me. Where we've been busy over damn near every weekend we've not had time but this saturday we're going to get most of it done in one go ( I hope.) Dad wanted some DVD's so Rich found them on the net for about half the price that they are in somewhere like HMV so that's a good start.

      We've had the car a couple of weeks now and it's running just fine apart from the odd squeak and rattle you get with a middle aged car. Certainly we're not left wanting for storage space, as the Garrison weekend proved.

      Down the fort last weekend and we got all our gear in the car, plus some stuff we don't usually take re-enacting with us as well as all the food for the weekend, so yay for when we next go away with the KGA.

      Can't say I really enjoyed our time at the fort to be honest though. I was only there because of Richard anyway. For a start I had quit the group a couple of months ago and frankly I'd rather not be on speaking terms with the unit commander because he's a freeloading bullying twat that i'd rather keep my distance from. Mind he knows in spite of my back I can take care of myself if he comes near me. Once again I've put up the money for the catering and once again I'm out of pocket so everyone can sort themselves out next time. No skin off my nose as we've got a camping gas stove and an extensive knowledge of cooking.

      Wish me luck with the Xmas shopping on Saturday.

    • More fun.

      Right, another lengthy absense I know, I'm sorry. It's been rather chaotic here the past few weeks. (When isn't it?)

      Well first off we've a new car. Well I say new, it's an 11 year old Ford Escort Estate, complete with roof rack and tow bar at the back for all our re-enacting needs :L

      She drives like a charm and the only thing that's wrong with her is the radio, which doesn't work, but we don't care because Rich won't listen to music while driving and anyway he'll veto my choice of music :L :L

      All this for £650. It was £800 but we party exchanged our old Ford, which we replaced because the clutch was on the brink of giving out and the cost to replace it we might as well have gotten a newer car.

      I think I'll call her Lurch, because when we turn the engine off the car lurches probably because it's a big heavy diesel engine.

      We actually got the thing three weeks ago but we couldn't drive it until yesterday because it was untaxed and the pilock who previously owned her lost the log book so weve had to do battle with the mindnumbing stupidity of the DVLA beuracrats and the postal strikes.

      On the plus side not owning a car for three weeks meantwe didn't have to worry about parking the damn thing and if it'll be there in the morning, a point emphasised because the kid across the road who had his moped nicked has finally got it back, or what's left of it anyway. Looks like the theives binned it somewhere.

      We had a good Samhain at home, some decs up, a pumpkin carved and i made a lovely pumpkin pie and soup with the insides :) And then there's the obligatory dressing up and scaring the crap out of the kids when they come knocking on our door :L

      We've a re-enacting weekend away at the Fort this weekend so we're busy planning bits and bobs and getting our stuff together for it.

      Oh, and I picked up another cleaning job the other week, so that makes 4 now. handdy, given how much money we've spent on the car, the insurance etc.

      And with that all out of the way I can finally start thinking about Xmas/Yule *shudder*

      Hey sweetheart ... I'm so glad you signed back in recently .. I deleted myself as I was getting grief form a couple of nasty bitches, it's all in the mail lists section on here, they pretty much defaced a mail list I set up to try and encourage support and they got bitchy on it .... Well all this business went way to far a very long time ago now and the last assault has literally almost killed him, his body keeps going deeper into shock and there's a possibility he might not come out of it .. the doctor's are hopeful he will but it'll take a month at least for him to start showing signs of real improvement .. he was electrocuted ... that was part of it anyway, it's disgustingly sick and twisted .. and it just gets worse and worse .. I'm sorry for not being around as much either but I'm worried sick, I tend to spend time on Twitter as well as it's quick and easier to use ..       Happy Halloween and Blessed Samhain!! OMG It doesnt feel like Halloween here....maybe its because Sidney isnt here anymore...my first halloween without him - what am I going to do?? I havent even got outfits for the kids..I doubt we will be going out trick or treating...though Im going to go get some treats to hand out...this year they wont be made into special little baggied like last year was...lol...I dont know where my decorations are - mum said they are in the garage... Its almost a year since he died...whats witch to do with out her black cat? I feel so empty! I mean I have Martini yes...but he isnt fully black...he's got alot of black but not like Sid.. :( Trick or Treat??
