    • I've been wanting to tell you

      This has been probably the most momentous year of my life so far; the most tragic, but out of that tragedy, came the greatest revelation. I can't do justice to what's happened with words, but I'll say them anyway.

      Dad died at the end of March, and I still can’t believe he’s gone; I think about him every day, and am reminded of him in so many things. I wish more than anything that life hadn’t taken this turn. Early grief was awful, but from it grew the most unexpected feeling - I started to believe in God. It wasn't so much from seeking comfort as trying to understand what life and death are about, and why they happen. I can only begin to make sense of them by believing they’re part of a greater design. But I needed to understand God as loving and well-intentioned, if I was to better come to terms with why things happen as they do, and so I wanted to believe in Jesus, whose life and death were the greatest representation of God’s love - he sacrificed his son so that we could be reconciled to him, and live forever in that love. This was harder to do, but when I let go of my fears and preconceptions, it just happened, and it was amazing - I accepted that God has freely given us forgiveness for our sins, which we were condemned in, and with it eternal life in all its fullness, through Jesus, his son.

      …to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God. - Ephesians 3:19

      I thank God that I have been given this faith, that in sorrow he found me and, despite my past, present and future sins, gave me hope of everlasting life. That same hope is for everyone, and I pray that you can have it too! :)

    • The Sunflowers Say that Argentina will win the World Cup

      Three thriving sunflowers = three times World Cup champions:D

      Breaking news : one of the sunflowers curled up and died yesterday. It's between France and England now:o I think I'll stop believing these stupid flowers, what do they know about football anyway...

      England arrrreeee OUT! And there you have it: France, World Champions 2006. Oh man, the Germans are sure to win now I've said that...:)

      The sunflowers say : Italy (in airy fairy voices that best suit flowers that even the pansies think are pansies:D ) We know now that this means Italy will lose. Our trust in the soil dwelling, sweet smelling friends of things that sting hangs in one game. I'm quite nervous now! But I won't mind if they were wrong if the final is even half as brilliant as the Germany v Italy game:)

      Really?! yeah me and ellie love them! :L they were playing in durness but it was the night before i went back to school and i didn't know until afterwards that they played in wick and thurso! :( gutted!
      Tell him "hi" from me and ellie :L n that we think he plays simon thoumire's jig spiffingly! (Y)

      I love A'Ghariads! Sean does too. The annoyug thing is that I didn't see it til the second week so I missed the Skerryvore one that everyone is talking about - I hear a repeat of it is on toight though. Unfortunately I don't have Gaelic tv but maybe BBCiPlayer will be nice to me.

      Haha was gonna say that was some analogy, i know the feeling tho :P Aye get urself back i need my left back (or heck if u fancy playing anywhere else give us a shout :D ) altho we dont have a game till Feb 11th (Heriot Watt which me and hannah harrison are desperate to win...a hannah thing perhaps?)

      Haha, ahh facebook isnt too bad, i also tried to get ur better half into bebo ways with no such luck either lol.
      Ahh well done for getting started i have little motivation whatsoever to get started altho i'll need to soon, have to teach myself the whole course practically (my own fault tho so i shouldnt moan).
      Aye christmas was a good one, short week down in Glasgow and back up to Deen tomorow for a full weeks work at sainsburys fun fun fun :D haha But yeah i'll be about at hogmany, most likely out in town, do you know what your doing for it?
