New Kildare Based Theatre Company, Gothic Horror Reimagined
À propos de moi
At the dawn of the 18th century a young medical student makes a startling discovery.
Death is just a disease.
Victor Frankenstein has found the cure.

Victor has given birth to a creature, a creature he may use in any way he sees fit.
But the creature has another purpose....

Frankenstein:
This play will be appearing in the Moat Theatre, Naas, on Oct 31st and Nov 1st @8pm

It is a 2 act play and a very different approach to the source material. In the production we are keeping the classical costumes of the period but our style is a mix of Greek tragedy (Largely in the form of choral movement) classical and contempory. We are incorporating naturalism when it comes to dialogue, while we have an ever present threat developed through movement pieces. We have also brought small elements of silhouettes into certain aspects, and these are being treated organically in an attempt to not cause a harsh, clinical, contrast to the rest of the piece. Our approach is a reinvention of the gothic horror genre, while the script is a dispassionate and visceral piece depicting a collision of beauty and atrocity.

Company Message
Sheer Tantrum Limited is a new Kildare based theatre company which specialises in Gothic Horror. Our aim is to bring classical gothic horror tales to the stage in a way that will appeal to and shock our modern audience while still remaining true to the heart of the text. Horror has the power to captivate and thrill us, whilst the ghouls and monsters are potent metaphors for troubles with our society. The themes of the true classics of horror are still very much evident today, and revisiting these tales in our sceptical times can give us a much needed release from the stresses and troubles of the modern age. Frankenstein’s creature, Dracula’s vampires, the dark side of Mr. Hyde and all those other monsters we know and love give a face to our deepest, often unspeakable, fears, worries, and sometimes, desires.

Come, sit, relax, and spend a few hours in the dark with us, exorcise your demons. Visit the dark side of your mind. But be careful, you may like what you find there....
