North West Fashion Week, is set to not only become a permanent fixture on the events calendar for the region, but is also the tool for positioning the North West as a fashion hub. Starting off in September with the first branch of the wider concept, Derry will play host to Foyle Fashion Week, a fashion filled series of events to include catwalk shows, a fashion masterclass, fashion academy and much more. The event is part of the wider North West Fashion Week strategy as the landmark event develops to encompass fashion initiatives in Donegal, Derry/Londonderry and Tyrone in future seasons.

Fashion Week has become a major part of the events calendar of some of the UK and Ireland’s biggest cities. It results in the generation of commerce, increased tourism and great opportunities for local people and Converse is urging everyone in the region to get behind the initiative to claim its place as one of Ireland’s premier fashion events. People from across the counties are invited to share their thoughts on what they would like to see from their North West Fashion Week as the event evolves from season to season into Tyrone and Donegal. They can do so by logging on to the newly launched www.nwfashionweek.co.uk and adding their opinions to those of the individuals who have already gave their support to the project including Nadine Coyle of Girls Aloud, MLA’s Martina Anderson, William Haye and Mary Bradley as well as fashion designers and retailers participating in the shows.
