  • The Eleventh Hour Airdate

    The BBC Programmes website has released the synopsis, airdate and airtime for The Eleventh Hour.

    According to the website, the first episode of Series Five of Doctor Who will air at 6:25pm on Saturday 3rd April. The synopsis is below:

    The Doctor has regenerated into a brand new man, but danger strikes before he can even recover. With the TARDIS wrecked, and the sonic screwdriver destroyed, the new Doctor has just 20 minutes to save the whole world - and only Amy Pond to help him.

  • Tour de Force!

    The Doctor returns to our screens in Easter but before he travels the universe he'll be touring the UK at the end of March.

    Matt Smith and Karen Gillan - the Eleventh Doctor and new companion Amy Pond - will be hopping onboard a specially themed Doctor Who tour bus and visiting five communities from Northern Ireland to Northampton.

    Each location will host a regional premiere of the new series opening episode, The Eleventh Hour. Please note, tickets are not available for these screenings.

    The tour bus will be visiting Belfast before moving on to Karen Gillan's hometown of Inverness. Sunderland and Salford are the next stops before journey's end in Matt's hometown of Northampton.

    Although tickets are not available for any of the screenings we'll be onboard the bus to bring you exclusive coverage of the tour.

    And in early April there'll be a separate series of events in London, Manchester, Edinburgh, Plymouth and Swansea. These will feature giveaways, the chance to see the new trailer in 3D, get your photograph taken whilst tumbling through the vortex and come face-to-face with some of the Doctor's deadliest enemies! We'll be bringing you more details of this nearer the time.

  • Seventh Heaven

    BBC Radio 7 has some Doctor Who related programmes coming soon.

    In late March you'll be able to hear the late Barry Letts reading his autobiography over the course of seven weeks. Entitled 'Barry Letts - Who and Me', it offers a fascinating insight into one of the show's most influential and well-loved producers.

    And in early April Tom Baker will be reading novelizations of three adventures - The Creature from the Pit, The Brain of Morbius and The Giant Robot, with the latter being an adaptation of the Fourth Doctor's debut story, Robot.

    These stories are part the 7th Dimension strand which is introduced by Nicholas Briggs, familiar to millions as the voice of the Daleks, Cybermen and the Judoon.
