- Please Help us to put a stop to abuse all over new zealand, as this is an growing epidemic, our nation is dying young, with youths seeing and doing what they see on TV, Many Parents have fell Victims to the Police saying they dont know how to keep their kids in line, the trouble with youth offenders is that its usually Violence at home that courses a dissconection from the family and the child does not feel he's safe,Kia ora everyone,
I would like to address all of the comments that have labelled people that abuse others as 'evil', 'sickos', etc, etc. I am in no way at all apologising for these people nor am i saying that they do not deserve punishment, i am however saying that we need to realise our responsibility, as well, in fixing this problem. Grieving family tell of 'little funny fella'
Duwayne Pailegutu is the latest child to be killed in New Zealand at the hands of a family member.
Police and ambulance staff were called to a Housing New Zealand flat in Nelson at 11.40am on Wednesday and spent half an hour desperately trying to resuscitate 7-year-old Duwayne Toetu Taote Pailegutu.But their efforts to save the former South Auckland boy's life failed, and a homicide investigation was started.
Duwayne's aunt, Amy Pailegutu, 23, said Duwayne was an outgoing child who loved playing with his younger cousins.Duwayne's stepfather, a 37-year-old Nelson labourer, appeared in the Nelson District Court yesterday charged with assault.
The case is the second suspected child abuse inquiry this week.
Are our child support services doing enough to protect the children of New Zealand against abuse??
