I feel that a truer word can not be said in relation to what happened during our Holiday Bible club in August.
This verse from Nehemiah refers to the rebuilding of the walls of Jerusalem, and is one which I feel has a great significance to all that were involved in the planning and delivery of this years Holiday Bible club.
I just want to take this opportunity to say a public and personal thank you to each and every member of the parish that remembered the Holiday Bible Club in their prayers. We had an extremely successful Holiday Bible club, and I would go so far as to say the most successful I have ever known in the 7 years that I have been involved and for me the best conclusion anyone could ask for. The week was not without its ups and downs but I am pleased to say that for every down there were at least three positives.
The theme for this year’s Kids club was people who had broken new ground for God, which is something which became a reality for us and I want to share some of that with you now. *By the end of the week we had over 70 children on the register with a daily attendance of 50-60 which was truly amazing. *We had a leadership team of over 20 which stretched over every age of the spectrum again something brand new to us. *Our youth outreach event (D.I.G.) attracted 20 young people from first to fifth year each night with a total of 30 registering throughout the three nights. *Our family fun night was also our most successful ever, with estimated numbers of 50 plus.
So as it says in Nehemiah 6:16 it was all done with the help of our God and I believe that without Gods help and you praying for God to help us none of this would have been possible. Thank you!!
There are however a number of people I would like to Thank in person, the first being a friend of mine, Jude Bleakley who came to assist me with the running of the club. Every day she turned up with enough energy and passion for both the young people and for God to keep us all going. I know that all of the leaders and young people enjoyed having her there. So Thank You Jude, don’t loose that energy and passion!!
To all the leaders that took time out of their lives and jobs to help us out, you really did a tremendous job. Hannah, Heather, Karen, Kate, Anne, Gillian, Lynn, Gail Thank you so much, don’t loose that youthfulness that you still have!!
Linda and Richard I just want to say Thank you not only for this week but for everything, you guys kept everything running smoothly and ensured that we had everything we needed. You even managed to keep your patience with me. On behalf of myself and all the Leaders Thank You, don’t loose that patience!!
To all the parents that sent their kids to any of the events, Thank You. We thoroughly enjoyed being able to share our faith with your children and I want to Thank you for giving me that opportunity, Keep sending them!! To the parents and family of all the guys from YF and beyond that helped out. Thank you, as I said to them I feel blessed to have been able to have them on my team. They have such a passion for their church. Thank You so much for letting them be involved in everything I have done they are an amazing bunch of young people, Keep encouraging them!! John, Thank you for all the help and support throughout the weeks leading up to Kids Club and for putting up with me and all my ideas. Thank You for giving me this opportunity to serve God within your church, Keep Going!!
Finally to all the guys from YF and beyond that came and helped out. Guys there are no words to show how thankful I am to you all or how much you all mean to me. I’m not going to name you all by name (other people have stuff to put in the magazine) but I do want to say a special Thanks to Sarah Adair. No matter what else she’s doing Sarah will give up her time to come and help out where ever she is needed, no job is too big
