I'm a bit cheesed so thought why not let you know as well

The New Zealand Aids Foundation (NZAF) in Hamilton was going to be supported for their red ribbon appeal but a group of talented and locally known Gender Illusionists and supporters at the Frankton Markets, a market where local traders go and trade and sell goods with some stages at either end for showcasing prebooked local talent. This was going to be a first for Hamilton going out amongst the public and entertaining during the day to raise awareness and share support for the NZAF and the New Zealanders with HIV/Aids.

After many man hours to organise this including visiting the local council for permits, approaching the organisers of the markets and organising supporters to come and help out and purchasing and making costumes this was all organised and performers including myself organised time off work to go out and organise this event.

To find out today Thursday 27th November for the organisers to advise us they no longer could approve us to be there, due to pressure from other stalls and groups at the Market who opposed us being there.

I think this is shocking from the Market organisers and also the other groups involved for pulling this event for us, all our hours of work and organisation to be thrown out the window. It shows the prejudice and the stigmas attached are still strong in New Zealand.

How ever we still have the Red Party at Shine Nightclub in Victoria Street , Hamilton That night to try and help with the funds

So apart from helping the few men become members of the mile high club, I also have this little annacdote to share

I seemed to put everyone in a good mood as I served food and drinks.
As the plane prepared to descend, I came swishing down the aisle and told the passengers that 'Captain Marvey has asked me to announce that he'll be landing the big scary plane shortly, so lovely people, if you could just put your trays up, that would be super.'
On my trip back up the aisle, I noticed this well-dressed and rather Arabic looking woman hadn't moved a muscle. 'Perhaps you didn't hear me over those big brute engines but I asked you
to raise your trazy-poo, so the main man can pitty-pat us on the ground.' She calmly turned her head and said, 'In my country, I am called a Princess and I take orders from no one.'
To which I replied, without missing a beat, 'Well, sweet-cheeks, in my country I'm called a Queen, so I outrank you. Tray-up, Bitch.'
