- I'm a student Mental Health Nurse at RGU, I work relief shifts as a support worker for Inspire, and do voluntary befriending for Befriend A Child. I keep pretty active, I do a bit of jogging and cycling, and go to a Hung-Ga Kung-Fu class two or three times a week. Besides that I'm usually busy being creative, writing poems and songs for Evil Demon Theory, Neep Justice and my solo stuff. I'm intent on leaving this world with something good that will hang about long after I'm dead.

'Child On Board'. So What?
Ok so this thought has popped into my head on my drives home over the years. The cars which have on the back 'Child on Board', in a variety of phrases and slogans. I always think, so what? I mean I don't have anything against kids at all, I do work for childrens charities. The thing that bothers me is that this seems to be intended in deterring people from crashing into the back of cars with children inside, which is not in itself a bad thing, but isn't it also a bad thing to crash in a car with ANYONE inside. How about 'Middle Aged Man on Board', would that do it for you, would that make you feel like you shouldn't crash into the back of his car, or would you think, "ah fuck it, he's lived a good few years already". It's like Bill Hicks says with the stupidity of child worship "What when they reach a certain age they're off your fucking love list?". It certainly seems to be the case. I was at an information day for an un-named childrens charity, when one guy behind me commented "There should be more things like this because like, children are our future". Fuck man. I bit my tongue. Just who's future are the children. Children are not my future, my future is my own. We should want to look after people because people need looking after, not to secure some fantasy future in which the kids solve everything. Good actions are done for their own sake, not as a means to an end. Ah. I feel better........2 comentarios 283 días

1st Solo Gig - 26/2/2008 - 10pm @ The Tunnels
A 30 minute set to unleash some of my acoustic songs to the world for the first time. It went pretty well. I was really nervous, and made a few minor mistakes, but overall my songs came across very well. I had a good bunch of mates there to see me through, which was a massive bonus. At the end of the night, when you get a pint, and the pretty barmaid tells you she liked the set, and that she thinks it's better than most professional people she's seen play at the venue, surely you must have done something right. Overall, I have to be very pleased with the way tonight went. This is a beginning..........

Revenge of the Cripple Mince Beasts......
"A sad state of affairs, what we have become". My voice fell on deaf ears. None of us cared anymore. I could tell from the desolate lack of expression on the faces of my comrades that we had lost a certain part of ourselves. We had lost a sense of who we were, lost a sense of what was real, lost any will we had to live. But me, something inside me, was not about to lay down and die. I stood. A profound feat for anyone in our hideous condition, I stood, and felt a sense of pride in who I had been, in who I still was. Despite my physical handicap, despite my inability to focus or to reason, I was determined. Determined to do what, was filtering through. I had been wronged, we had been wronged. What sort of God would..... That was it. The memory of our hideous transformation was seeping through the cloud of hatred in my once perfect mind. GOD. The Generator, Operator, and Destroyer of what we were. We had been loyal, henchmen to his inconsistent regime, and what had we done but questioned him? A God who had refused to justify himself to anyone whom he saw as inferior, had taken away our bodies, and forced us into these shells. Now, once twelve elite Angels, we were no more than cripple mince beasts. Nevertheless, one thing not even God could take away was our spirit. I summoned the will of my comrades. Standing proud, I muttered through my barely functioning vocal chords "vengeance.......". The room began to stir. The lack of expression with my comrades became lack of mercy, as I saw their eyes glow red with the fire of a realisation that we had been wronged. One by one my comrades stood. A circle of twelve of us stood together, not making a sound, yet sensing what had to be done. My name was Sabbatacus, once the leader of God's elite Angels, now like my comrades, nothing more than a cripple mince beast. We stood, and as I saw the fire in the eyes of my friends I knew we would have our revenge. We would have our revenge on God. How was the Marathon yesterday? Did you collapse into a wheezing mess and manage a piss poor time? Or did you power through for the kids?
I drank beer and watched that seagal film. Fuck me, it's awful! Not to spoil it for you but the sumarine, which you might think would play a large role given that it's called 'Submerged' and it's got a submarine on the front cover, is literally only in the film for about ten minutes before being blown up. What a twist! So Submerged is mostly played out on dry land!! Betcha didn't see that one coming...
