- Me, Myself, and I
- Kicking off 20 September 2008 the week of fashion filled events aims to position the North West as a fashion hub by celebrating the region’s heritage of textiles while showcasing up-and-coming designers and exhibiting the best of the region’s retailers. This is the first fashion event of this magnitude to happen outside of Belfast or Dublin, and is sure to be a fantastic addition to the North West’s event’s calendar.

What Foyle Fashion Week means?
Nadine Coyle
Girls Aloud
I‘ve always thought of Derry as a very fashionable town, with gorgeous girls in it. It would be great to see all the styles and trends put together in the fashion shows. Wish I could be there, love Nadine.
Aoife Thomas
Derry Visitor & Convention Bureau
We are delighted to be involved in the forthcoming Foyle Fashion Week which promises to provide entertainment for local residents, assist in attracting visitors from outside the city and also act as an opportunity for local retailers and designers to showcase their products. As with many European cities, fashion events are key in highlighting the destination as an exciting place to visit therefore we very much welcome and support this event.
Martina Anderson
Foyle Sinn Fein MLA
The event could propel Derry to the fashion capital of Ireland. This is the first time an event of this scale will be held in Derry and I hope that this can create a launch pad for it to become not only the North West region's premier fashion event but to go on and compete to become Ireland's number one fashion event.
Janice Tracey
CEO, The Londonderry Chamber of Commerce
This is a fantastic initiative from one of our emerging local entrepreneurs. It’s exactly this type of passion and innovation that we want to encourage. This type of event and activity only adds to the exciting mix of our exciting calendar of regular events. Derry is the Regional City of the NW and events like the Foyle Fashion Week will help not only in efforts to promote the city at the centre of the region but also of course attract fashion shoppers to our wide range and mix of fashion retailers.
Sinead McLaughlin
Business Operations Manager, Londonderry Chamber of Commerce
The Londonderry Chamber of Commerce welcomes Foyle Fashion Week as this will be an opportunity to showcase the regions offering not only from the retail perspective but it will also from a design concept. The Programme is being developed by the Converse Group and it is hoped that this initiative will become an annual event in the city that will grow year on year.
Jayne Quigg
University of Ulster
Fashion, textiles and design are an important part of our heritage and through events such as Foyle Fashion Week a spirit of design can be fostered in the region. There are a wealth of incredible designers in the North West and by highlighting the talent we have on our doorstep we are investing in our future both socially and economically.
Lorraine McCarthy
City Centre Initiative
We are delighted to be involved with the fashion show. Events such as this serve to promote and showcase our City as a modern and fashion conscious hub, attracting a variation of age groups and tastes to our large high street shops right across to the smaller local boutiques. I am sure the city will be out in strength to support this local event.
David Conaghan
Retailer, Chocolate
With Derry being such a fashion forward city, the introduction of Foyle Fashion Week would greatly enhance the city’s profile as a whole. From a retailers point of view it would be fantastic for local business, it would be a platform to showcase our collections to a wider audience, and attract interest from outside the city. It would also be a valuable opportunity to network and build business relationships with other individuals, brands and companies in the industry. With a week packed full of events and functions all based around fashion and shopping in the city, it would certainly increase footfall with many people visiting the city to attend fashion week and will also have a positive knock on affect on other businesses in sectors such as tourism, catering etc. There is always the glamorous side to any fashion week, with celebrities getting involved, catwalk shows, functions etc. Good coverage of all this in the media would be great for the image of the city, and in doing so we would put Derry on the map as one of Irelands most fashionable0 Commentaren 540 dagen
