- Quote of Substance
- “Obedience to the call of Christ nearly always costs everything to two people- the one who is called, and the one who loves that one.”- Oswald Chambers
- Quote of Substance
- "God has huge plans for the world today! He is not content to merely establish a handful of struggling churches among each tongue, tribe and nation. Even now He is preparing and empowering His Church to carry the seeds of revival to the uttermost ends of the earth." - David Smithers
- Papua New Guinea
- PNG occupies the eastern half of the island of New Guinea and over 600 offshore islands (the western portion of the island is occupied by the Indonesian provinces of Papua and West Irian Jaya). Its capital, and one of its few major cities, is Port Moresby. PNG is about a tenth larger than California. Most of the main island, especially the interior, remains isolated from outside contact by rugged mountains, deep gorges, and swamps. The mainland’s high plateau climate is temperate, contrasting with the tropical climate of the coastal plains.
- Quote of Substance
- "I have seen, at different times, the smoke of a thousand villages - villages whose people are without Christ, without God, and without hope in the world." - Robert Moffat
- Quote of Substance
- "Never pity missionaries; envy them. They are where the real action is, where life and death, sin and grace, Heaven and Hell converge." - Robert Shannon
- Papua New Guinea - Culture
- PNG is one of the most diverse countries on Earth, with over 870 indigenous languages and at least as many traditional societies, out of a population of just under 6 million. PNG is also one of the world's least explored, culturally and geographically, and many undiscovered species of plants and animals are thought to exist in the interior of PNG. The culture of Papua New Guinea is complex. It is estimated that more than 1000 different cultural groups exist in PNG, and most groups have their own language. To unify the nation, the language Tok Pisin, has evolved as the lingua franca — the medium through which diverse language groups are able to communicate with one another.

There is Power, Power, wonder working Power!
Behold, I will bring it health and healing; I will heal them and reveal to them the abundance of peace and truth.
Jer 33:6
Praise the Lord! God is faithful, His Word is everlasting, and the Power of Jesus' Resurrection is ever unfolding!
Thank you to everyone across the world who have interceded on behalf of my Mother! During the past two days as she has undergone operations to removed the tumor - the peace that passes all understanding rested upon her spirit and the sweet presence of the Holy Ghost overshadowed us.
We serve a Healer! The tumor has been removed and sent to the lab for biopsy - we will receive the report in a week. The doctor believes it to be non-malignant! We will know for certain in a week but in this moment we chose to abide in faith believing that the report will bear witness of the complete work at Calvary!
Mom is doing well, although in a great deal of pain and heavily medicated at the moment. Thank you to all of the saints, pastors, and churches have come to the Hospital to stand with us, sent money, food, gas cards, flowers, etc. We are honored by the Elect of God!
Continue to pray... and join us in shouting the Victory because death was defeated and the Atonement is alive!

Update / Prayer Request: Mary J. Leonard-Leach
Praise the Lord. Just a note to update everyone on the current status of our mother’s medical condition, prognosis, and impending surgery. The purpose of this update is foremost for prayer, and also to clarify matters so that there be no confusion as to her status.
Yesterday a leading female surgeon at the Cancer Centre at the University of Virginia Medical Centre who specializes in the removal of tumors evaluated Mom.
The latest information that we have received based upon the specialists evaluation and the additional x-rays, EKG, and Pap Smear tests that were conducted yesterday is as follows:
The tumor is very large in dimension and at this point the doctors do not know what they are working with until they open her up. The doctors have given the impression that it is a distinct possibility that the tumor has attached itself to various vital organs, e.g. bladder, kidneys, etc. This would certainly complicate the removal process.
Surgery is scheduled for next Thursday, Jan 29 – the operation is expected to take a minimal of 3-4 hours to complete. They will remove the tumor, uterus, ovaries, and fallopian tubes. During surgery they will send a piece of the tumor to the lab to test for cancer. Within two hours of the surgery the doctors should come back to us with the preliminary results of the biopsy. Once the operation is concluded they will send the removed organs to the laboratory to biopsy.
Mom is in a very weakened state as a result of the size of the tumor and the fact that it is robbing her body of any vitamins and nutrients that enter into her body – there appear to be many blood vessels attached to the tumor which are feeding it and causing it to grow rapidly.
She is not able to eat very much and becomes nauseated very easily – especially by anything sweet in substance. According to the calculations of the medical staff she has lost an additional 14 pounds (6.36 kgs) in the past three days. In total, she has lost nearly 100 pounds (45.45 kgs).
Lord willing, Mom will be admitted to the University of Virginia Medical Centre on Wednesday, Jan 28. Once admitted she will undergo a procedure to implant a catheter into one of her main arteries – this will help the doctors to identify the location of the main blood vessels which are feeding the tumor, once locating them they will attempt to clot the blood in those particular vessels to prevent blood flow to the tumor itself. The intended result of this is to cause the tumor to shrink prior to surgery.
Please continue to pray for Mom during this unpleasant season of waiting – she is in a great deal of pain and discomfort caused by the tumor and her body’s inability to function normally as a result.
Pray for our father, Rev. H. G. Leach, that the Lord will uphold him with the right hand of His Righteousness and prepare a refuge of peace for him in the face of uncertainty. Pray for the congregation of Manassas Pentecostal Church, our parents’ pastorate.
Pray for the Holy Ghost to anoint the hands of the surgeon and impart increased wisdom and supernatural knowledge to her as she conducts the operation. Should the opportunity present itself, we as a family will pray over the surgeon before the operation begins.
We stand upon the Word of God and declare that Mom shall live and not die, a thousand shall fall on one side and ten thousand on the other but it shall not come close to her, we invoke the matchless power contained in the Name of Jesus and curse disease and command it to be subject to the Blood!
We are confident in God, persuaded that He is able! The Father has given a dream to our mother that had deep and significant interpretive meaning, which provides us hope for the future, an Angel appeared to our father and spoke words of assurance over him, these things in conjunction with our collective testimony of God’s faithfulness and His Healing power causes us to stand steadfast in His Word.

Prayer Request
The past few days have been a rather intense journey of fear, faith, and the discovery of heretofore unknown fortitude. My Mom has been sick for a long time, the last six months of which she has not been able to leave the house, even to attend worship. She has suffered a great deal in silence - not publicizing her pain or tribulation but rather abiding in faith - "holding her foot and letting her words be few."
Yesterday after undergoing a cat-scan, chest x-ray, and other procedures the doctors confirmed the presence of a tumor in Mom's body. It is located in her uterus and has wrapped itself around that and other organs although from the scans it is difficult to judge the extent to which it is interwoven. The tumor is equivalent in size to that of a 30 week old fetus. She underwent further testing today and we have been told that she will undergo surgery in the next few days to remove the tumor.
We as a family desire the covering of your prayers in the coming days as we walk through a valley, that while familiar to many of our friends, is unfamiliar and unknown ground to us. Pray for God to strengthen her body so that it will be able to undergo the surgery without any complications. Pray that the tumor will be successfully removed in its entirety. We are believing that the Holy Ghost will intervene and that upon testing of that tissue it will be prove to be benign and non-cancerous!
We believe according to Hebrews 7:25 that Jesus Himself is even now making intercession before the Throne of God on her behalf, we believe according to Romans 8:11 that the same Spirit that possessed the power to raise Jesus from the grave is even now being made manifest and giving life to her mortal body, we stand upon Deuteronomy 7:15 that the Lord shall take away this disease from among us, and we call upon the Church to agree with us according to Mark 16: 17-18 so that "these signs shall follow them that believe.. they shall lay on the sick and they shall recover!"
Mom is a powerful woman of faith, resilient in the face of opposition, and grounded in the covenant of the Word. Thank you to everyone who has called, written, and let us know that you are standing with us. The Church, from America to Australia, Papua New Guinea and back are praying! He will hear our cry! Please continue to intercede alongside us for complete healing!
In Him,
Stephen Michael Leach
