- Life feels a bit in limbo at the moment. Moving to London at the end of August, and can't wait to get on with finding someplace to live and moving down.
I work for a hotel company doing IT installation & training. It doesn't sound interesting (maybe because its not), but i do get to travel around a bit and meet lots of different people.

UK Rollout
2nd week of UK system rollout. Was in Aberdeen last week, in Newcastle this week. Taxi drivers appear to be in competition to see how local and impenetrable they can make their accents.

More Cairo stuff.
Went to the Pyramids. They are quite big and stoney. You have to spend most of your time avoiding people trying to sell you stuff, or give you 'presents' then charge you for them, which takes away from the magnificence of the surroundings a little.
Saw the sphinx. Quite cool but smaller than you think.
Went to the museum. Really impressive. Been to Coptic area, fairly impressive.
Also just generally wandered around, which has been fun. In the less touristy areas people shout "welcome" at you as you pass. I think it may be an arabic insult. Taxi journeys are still endlessly entertaining. Very few have working speedos. One we got in had to be push-started when we stopped. Most drivers claim they know where you want to go - even quote a fare for the journey, then start asking for directions (in arabic) after about 5 mins drive. It is fun.
Got food poisoning (in McD's of all places) on Saturday. It is not fun.

errr, ok, you go to settings and the translation bit then it lists like english - us, uk, spanish, german, french and all their dialects and all other languages and buried in there (pardon the expression) is one that says english - pirate BETA... its amazing!!!!

You'll never believe this but I've just bought myself a car... a wee renault clio. It has completely wiped me out moneywise, but at least I'll save £16 a week on the bus (though not sure if that actually works considering the price of petrol..!), anyway I've no excuse now for not doing a trip up to Glasgow!
So when do you move down to London? come to think of it, did Emanual ever turn up?

Hi fraser, i might be insane - but to be honest i dont think anyone has really noticed a difference - im in work on a sunday... this sucks!
Thats very exciting about your flat. Flat hunting is only marginally better than job hunting when you've got the fear! so you msut be relieved to have somewhere, as long as its bigger than an ikea wardrobe (and more substantial!). so whereabouts in london are you? and when do you officially move?
