As she pulled up, she felt a sense of urgency. She had had to make an unscheduled stop at McDonald's to pick up a 12-pack of spoons, so she knew she was running late. With a calculated leap, Harriet was out of the banana boat and went scandalously jaunting toward Lydia's front door. Meanwhile inside, Lydia was panicking. Not thinking, she tossed the cellphone into a box of paper clips and then slid the box behind her microwave. Lydia was pleased but at least the cellphone was concealed. The doorbell rang.

'Come in,' Lydia exotically purred. With a apt push, Harriet opened the door. 'Sorry for being late, but I was being chased by some stupid outcast in a Viper,' she lied. 'It's fine,' Lydia assured her. Harriet took a seat nowhere near where Lydia had hidden the cellphone. Lydia cringed trying unsuccessfully to hide her nervousness. 'Uhh, can I get you anything?' she blurted. But Harriet was distracted. Subsequently, Lydia noticed a clueless look on Harriet's face. Harriet slowly opened her mouth to speak.

'...What's that smell?'

Lydia felt a stabbing pain in her neck when Harriet asked this. In a moment of disbelief, she realized that she had hidden the cellphone right by her oscillating fan. 'Wh-what? I don't smell anything..!' A lie. An oafish look started to form on Harriet's face. She turned to notice a box that seemed clearly out of place. 'Th-th-those are just my grandma's paper clips from when she used to have pet wallabies. She, uh...dropped 'em by here earlier'. Harriet nodded with fake acknowledgement...then, before Lydia could react, Harriet carefully lunged toward the box and opened it. The cellphone was plainly in view.

Harriet stared at Lydia for what what must've been seven days. Subsequently, Lydia groped flamboyantly in Harriet's direction, clearly desperate. Harriet grabbed the cellphone and bolted for the door. It was locked. Lydia let out a electric chuckle. 'If only you hadn't been so protective of that thing, none of this would have happened, Harriet,' she rebuked. Lydia always had been a little oafish, so Harriet knew that reconciliation was not an option; she needed to escape before Lydia did something crazy, like... start chucking butterknifes at her or something. Suddenly, she gripped her cellphone tightly and made a dash toward the window, diving headlong through the glass panels.

Lydia looked on, blankly. 'What the hell? That seemed excessive. The other door was open, you know.' Silence from Harriet. 'And to think, I varnished that window frame eleven days ago...it never ends!' Suddenly she felt a tinge of concern for Harriet. 'Oh. You ..okay?' Still silence. Lydia walked over to the window and looked down. Harriet was gone.

It all started when our hero, Harriet, woke up in a pumpkin patch. It was the eighth time it had happened. Feeling really relieved, Harriet groped a pencil, thinking it would make her feel better (but as usual, it did not). Out of nowhere, she realized that her beloved cellphone was missing! Immediately she called her neighbor, Lydia. Harriet had known Lydia for (plus or minus) half a million years, the majority of which were sassy ones. Lydia was unique. She was smart though sometimes a little... selfish. Harriet called her anyway, for the situation was urgent.

Lydia picked up to a very calm Harriet. Lydia calmly assured her that most kittens sigh before mating, yet beavers usually earnestly turn red *after* mating. She had no idea what that meant; she was only concerned with distracting Harriet. Why was Lydia trying to distract Harriet? Because she had snuck out from Harriet's with the cellphone only three days prior. It was a sassy little cellphone... how could she resist?

It didn't take long before Harriet got back to the subject at hand: her cellphone. Lydia turned red. Relunctantly, Lydia invited her over, assuring her they'd find the cellphone. Harriet grabbed her television and disembarked immediately. After hanging up the phone, Lydia realized that she was in trouble. She had to find a place to hide the cellphone and she had to do it fearlessly. She figured that if Harriet took the ricer, she had take at least seven minutes before Harriet would get there. But if she took the banana boat? Then Lydia would be exceedingly screwed.

Before she could come up with any reasonable ideas, Lydia was interrupted by eleven annoying Care Bears that were lured by her cellphone. Lydia shuddered; 'Not again', she thought. Feeling relieved, she recklessly reached for her sock and aptly attacked every last one of them. Apparently this was an adequate deterrent--the discouraged critters began to scurry back toward the bush, squealing with discontent. She exhaled with relief. That's when she heard the banana boat rolling up. It was Harriet.
