About Me

Tagline
There are two sides to every story...
Me, Myself, and I
3105:- Humanity stands on the brink of self-destruction.

Having spread itself amongst the stars during the mid-third millenium, with the advent of wormhole technology, constant conflict and war has slowly destroyed what was learnt, and plunged Humanity into a quasi-technological Dark Age, with barely sufficient knowledge to survive.

Fuelled by desparation, hatred and fear, the masses polarised into two factions; the religious, cult-like, Brotherhood, and the secular Union.

The divide was by no means a clean one, forcefully separating couples, families, friends and even brothers...

  • Force Organisation. Union Armed Forces and The Brotherhood.

Just to give readers a more in-depth understanding of how the Union and Brotherhood forces are organised to stave off any nasty confusion... Oh, and expect it to be long and complicated. This is me doing the writing here...

Union Armed Forces [UAF, pronounced "you-af"]

The Union forces are the approximate equivilent of the Armed Forces of a modern MEDC. That is to say, hi-tech, well equipped, supurbly trained professional warriors. Naturally though, given the scale of both the War, and the resources the Union has to draw upon, is much larger.

The Union Armed Forces are organised into huge Battle groups, consisting of over 1,000,000 men, their equipment, logistics and supporting elements. Supporting elements consisting of Armour, Air Support & a fleet of warships to ferry them from world to world, and support them while in combat. The appearance of an entire Battle Group at once signals a rapid and huge change in the power balence of any area.

The Union Armed Forces house a vast selection of different specialised and un-specialised combat troops, with their own roles to play in combat, giving a Union Commander unparrelled diversity in the field.

    Defence Reservists
All Union worlds also have their own defensive forces, that are bound to defend their worlds, but will never be called on to serve outside their own Solar System. They are the approximate equivilant of the modern-day US National Guard, or the British Territorial Army. The quality and numbers of these troops can vary greatly from world to world depending on that system's wealth, popultation and so on.

    (The poor bloody) Infantry
The bulk of a Union Battle Group. These troops are trained and equiped to a high standard, and are equipped with a variety of weapons that, reality permitting, allow them to engage and kill the vast majority of units on the battlefield. These troops are your typical Infantry, jacks of all trades, masters of none. Mobility provided by anything from boots, to bikes, trucks, tanks and APCs...

    Heavy Infantry
Formed out of the biggest and strongest of the regular infantry, the Heavy Infantry Company is a vital part of any Infantry Battallion. These troopers are equipped with the toughest and heaviest Infantry body armour and leathal high-power, close-quarter weaponry that allows them to get into the most violent areas of fighting and survive while ripping the enemy apart and point-blank range. Tend to be APC deployed

Air Mobile Infantry [AMI, pronounce "am-ee"]
Although all units are deployed by air into the theatre, these guys deploy from their aircraft, straight into the combat zone. They tend to be the first troops on the ground to recon and secure a landing zone prior to a mass landing by conventional forces. Also used as high-speed reserves, being used to bolster flagging defences, plug gaps, or counter moves by the enemy. Favourite occupation:- Jumping out of fast things, with guns, lots of guns (and aggro).

Air Mobile Light Shock Troops [AMLST, pronounce "am-list"]
Similar to the above, but more specialised, these are the cream of regular forces. Virtually never deployed in above two platoon/ half company strength, they are used for recon, search and rescue, as well as other operations behind lines, carrying out Blitzkrieg-style raids. They are equiped along similar lines as conventional Infantry platoons, with exception of carrying nothing heavier than a disposable rocket-tube, and wearing significantly reduced armour suits. Combined to this they utilise shock and awe to the maximum, laying down as much fire as possible, in as little time, in order to distress and demoralise their opposition.

Armoured Vehicle Support Troops [AVST, pronounce "ay-vest"]
These units provide the drivers, gunners and other crew members for anything bigger than a jeep that moves at ground level. Ranging from cargo trucks to high-speed light tanks, to the heavy Panther Main B
