Lambe (O'Luain) is translated as hound or warrior

Fiachra is translated into English as "Battle King."

Fiacre (or more correctly Fiachra) is an ancient pagan name from Ireland. It is derived from the section of the ancient clans known as the the 'Fiach', or the hunters/warriors. The name has no direct translation into English, although roughly might translate as 'hunter' or 'warrior'. The name predates catholic influence in Ireland

Rugby
My theory is that rugby - as a sport/culture/lifestyle - may have peaked as a sport when there was the wonderful grey area between amateur and professional. The early days when great rugby was played but tours still centred around great craic and great rugby. Playing for your team, your mates, instead of gettin the biggest pay day possible. As illustrated by my Lions '97 flashbox, you could still play wonderful rugby while late night partying was goin on behind the scenes. Can anyone imagine the big black machine that is the All Blacks stopping after the quarter finals for a kangaroo court??? and if they did, they sure as hell wouldnt put it on video and share it with the world! bring back the days of ppl havin a job AND playing rugby, we're losin the passion, devotion and sense of humour that ppl like GAAheads are now reaping the benefit of!
