- AIDS West is a voluntary organisation, established in 1987 to work in the area of HIV and sexual health. Based in Galway City, we offer a free, confidential information helpline, support services to people affected by HIV and to those concerned about their sexual health, as well as education and prevention services in Counties Galway, Mayo and Roscommon. Our services are completely confidential. We also provide education and prevention in the areas of sexual health, drugs and alcohol with the aim of preventing people in the West of Ireland from contracting sexually transmitted infections (STIs) or HIV.
Recent figures show that HIV is a virus which a minimum of 4,600 Irish people live with every day and it is our aim to help them cope with their illness with dignity and pride.
