Wow. I think that it was Fall 2001 the last time Bebo was in NW Arkansas. He came to town with Aaron Shust & Brandon Heath to do a concert at Springdale's First United Methodist Church this Tuesday night. It was a great show - as always! The new CD is great. He & his wife Roshare are expecting!

It's almost Thanksgiving. Can't wait for a couple of days off! That also means Christmas is almost here & Cherith and Stephen will be back soon.

Laura & Semi's wedding is just around the corner & Amy was accepted to the University of Alabama. Congratulations to the 3 of them.

Sorry that I don't have anything else too exciting to write. I'll try again another day.

Howdy!

I don't have anything meaningful to say, but there's nothing to do at work - so I thought I'd post anyway!

Summer has officially arrived. Last Wednesday was my last day at school. Vacation has officiallly begun. I'm working 11:30 - close at the lab - per my usual summer habit. Am taking 54 hours or so of in-service credit courses this summer. 12 of those will get me out of the two staff development days that precede Christmas break in the upcoming school year.

It's been a lovely couple of days. Lots of rain, minimal sun. I know that not everyone shares my enthusiasm for the cooler weather, but I'll embrace it while it's here.

Interesting fact of the day - Bebo had surgery on a broken leg yesterday. He had to have some pins inserted into his leg after breaking it playin wiffle (sp?) ball last week. That really stinks. The wiffle ball thing would be really funny if it hadn't been severe enough to require surgery.

Well, I'll write again another day. Hopefully by then I'll have something to say! Until then - take care!

Howdy!

I've never kept a blog before, so I'm sure this will be really random. Donald sent an invitation to this site yesterday & it seems pretty cool - probably because I anticipate being a fan of quiz making.

Cherith, Stephen, Andrew, Ann, and I went down to the Dallas/Arlington/Addison area this weekend to catch Bebo & Gabe in concert. It was - as always - awesome! I love it when the people whose music I enjoy are chatty when they perform. It's so much more fun than just the music (which would obviously still be worth the trip) by itself. Bebo was singing at Lake Arlington Baptist Church for their spring canned food drive to support Mission Arlington. It was an acoustic show (my favorite) with just Bebo and Gabe. It always seems way more relaxed that way. Someone in NW Arkansas with a cool but small venue needs to book the two of them to come and play and talk.

While we were down there, we made our first trip to IKEA (in Frisco) which has instantly become one of the coolest stores in my experience! They're so cheap. It was awesome. Andrew entertained us with Plano jokes for the drive there. "Look, it's just a Plano gas station over there."

We also hit up Freebird's, Chuy's, Ben & Jerry's, and Marble Slab while we were there. You're right, that does sound like a lot of food...mostly because it was. Fun & yummy times, though. Fummy??

Got back in town around 3:30ish. Monday was a sleepy day , but it brightened up significantly when Amy, Amy, Kristie, Cherith, and I went to dinner on Monday night for a little birthday celebration. Good times.
