Releases on Soma, M_NUS and Edit-Select have seen Gary make headway in the world of techno with support coming from many of the big guns right across the techno spectrum.
Support in the main room comes from Jamie Kidd and Paul Thomas.
In room 2, Paul Thomas and Kirk Douglas will tide things over.
£4 before 12 & £6 after. £5 for students alll night!
There will also be some stellar drink promotions from the wonderful Cab, as below.

Support in the main room from Residents Jamie Kidd and Bruno FK
After having Perc rip Compakt apart in May, we now bring glasgow born Gary Beck into town for some tech shenannigans. Gary falls in line with our policy of bringing fresh and exciting names in the world of techno to Edinburgh.
Gary has been producing his own enticing class of electronic music since early 2002. With a god-like tech set-up utilizing a number of keyboards, drum machines, hardware synths and software programs, Gary’s first release ‘Stick to the Reggae’ was quickly signed up by Philadelphia Dub House label ‘Worship Recordings’, home to artists such as Hakan Lidbo, Pete Moss and Hipp-E.
Since then Gary has refined his sound further and gone on to record for Djinxx’s Mezzotinto, London’s Fine Art Recordings, Percy X’s Edit-Select and Perc Trax amongst others. His tracks have received worldwide praise from the biggest names in house and techno, from Richie Hawtin and James Holden to Laurent Garnier, Sven Vath, and Yousef. His DJ and live sets are a breed apart, fusing bass driven techno with quirky, experimental house to rapturous effect.
With further remixes, DJ dates and releases on the horizon for labels such as M_nus, Somabeta and Edit-Select, 2009 is set to be a huge year for Gary. Aside from his recordings under his own moniker Gary also produces under the pseudonym ‘Ruskin Franks’ to set free the more down-tempo, experimental side of his music.

Compakt 16th of Jan - Free entry before 12 residents party.
Compakt open the page in 2009 at cabaret voltaire with some fine local guests and a team of solid residents. Entry will be free up until 12 for everyone feeling the pinch after a hectic festive period. Entry will then be £5's after 12 and 2 for 1 on all students.
Bruno FK and Jamie both played in November and will help us shake up the main room in Jan. Dave Begg is a name renowned for good quality underground house and techno, having played across europe and ran the legendary Area 51, we are very pleased to have him on board. Supporting in room 2 are Chris Graham, who in our eyes is one of Edinburghs finest young djs and Paul Morrice, who is currently making waves in Edinburgh with his new house and techno night Mono!

Important info regarding our next party. Oxia has been rescheduled.
Hi guys, unfortunately we have had to move our date for Oxia back until March 09.
We greatly apologize for this and look forward to having him early next year.
We have amended the door price to reflect this; entry is now £4 before 12 and £6 after. Anyone who has tickets already will receive a refund on the door.
If you are a student at any of Edinburgh’s University’s, we will be offering 2 for 1's on the door all night. Please bring your Uni pass to entitle you to this.
Phil Kieran should mix up the Cab nicely, we hope you can join us for a great party.

However, its now time for residents Liam Goldie & tonykeo to take over again in November and as always they'll be smashing up the Speakeasy, OUR HOUSE style !!
So, if you like your house music and like it funky, jackin, vocal, disco tinged or even a wee bit dirtier, then you'd definitely be better off in OUR HOUSE than yours so get your ass down !!
