Twisted Pepper on Middle Abbey Street is one year old and to celebrate Comedy Ireland is bringing Dead Cat Bounce and Fred Cooke to the party. Dead Cat Bounce are back from their fantastic run at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, this musical four piece are guaranteed to get even bigger, catch them while its cheap and if that's not a good enough reason you also get Fred Cooke to leave you rolling in the aisles, all this for the low low price of 12 Euro. Doors at 8pm

    Comedy Ireland in association with Bodytonic Music and Phantom Fm are
    looking for the newest comedy sensation!

    The idea behind the competition is to help encourage comedy as a whole.
    For some this competition may be their first time to enter such an event,
    or it could be someone who has been around for a whiles opportunity to

    shine.

    The lucky winner shall receive a few quid (more than their bus fare!) and
    spots in places such as The Laughter Lounge, Anseo, The Woolshed, Comedy
    Dublin, The Axis in Ballymun and many more.

    Your now wondering how to take part ain’t you?Well it couldn’t be
    easier…To take part you just have to fill in the entry form.Simple!

    I’ve sent off my application,now what am I to do now? And what will happen?
    Sit beside your interweb and check your email’s as we will inform you if
    your in or not.Then there rounds and an eventual winner who will be given
    a support spot in a Comedy Ireland gig plus other comedy venues. And there
    my even be a few bits and pieces thrown in on top!

  • Comedy Ireland introduce Colm O' Regan's Edinburgh gig + guests

    Colm O' Regan
    Colm O’Regan has been in comedy for the last four years and in that time has progressed to being one of the up and coming stars of Irish comedy.

    He has played all the festivals – Edinburgh (“emphatically funny” 3 weeks,) Kilkenny and the prestigious invite only Montreal Just For Laughs. He has played all over Ireland and the UK and even as far away as Tokyo and Osaka…well he was passing so might as well drop in.
    He is also a regular at the Laughter Lounge in Dublin who describe him as having a “phD in stand up comedy!”

    Colm’s TV and radio credits include the Paramount Comedy Channel (World Stands up), RTE 2’s Just for Laughs, The Lucy Kennedy Show as well as writing for and featuring on RTE Radio 1 and Newstalk as well as being invited to perform at the prestigious Leviathan political cabaret

    Neil Hickey
    Neil Hickey began his stand up career four years ago and in this short time he has performed his thoughtful, warm and witty brand of humour in all the major comedy venues across Ireland. A native of Dublin, Neil is a regular performer in the city’s most established comedy clubs, including the International Comedy Club, The Comedy Cellar and the Laughter Lounge. More recently Neil was selected to perform at the Irish Just For Laughs Montreal Showcase and the Edinburgh Fringe Festival where he performed as part of Andrew Stanley’s comedy Mish Mash Show.

    Danny O' Brien
    Danny is a new and energethic comedian, a reletive new comer with many tales of Irish and abroad stories...

    it's his 2nd ever gig!! But we know he willmake you laugh!

    He shall be the one to make you comfortable and tell you tales of the things he see's and gets up to!

    This weekend's line up is as follows

    John Lawler - MC
    John shall be the MC this weekend. Coming back from a successful run in
    Kilkenny as part of the Ha'Penny Imporve Group.

    Dave Reily
    Dave has previously gigged in The UCD Competition, Anseo and other venues.
    A reletive new comer but with a good future in front of him.

    Eugene Maher
    Eugene is one to watch, with already making a good impression in many
    comedy clubs he is one to enjoy. Previous gigging includes Bray's Harbour
    Bar, The Ha'Penny, Roisin Dubh and more.

    Joe Macken
    This Ballyfermot native is one who will serenade you with musically comedy! Previous gigs include The Ha'Penny and Comedy Dublin

    Gerry Mc Bride
    he likes boobs and you will love his moving one's. One of the funniest guys around. Previous gigs inclube Le Cheile Festival, The International and many more.

    Tommy Nicholson
    Tommy has supported Des Bishop and is one of the top lads to see gig. Featuring in venues such as The International, Vicar Street and many more.

    This week's gig is in The Twisted Pepper on Middle Abbey Street.

    Doors are at 8:30 and show starts at 9pm sharp.
