Thanks to a loyal reader for sending me Dickens Energy Cider. I had never seen it before but am really glad I got a chance to try this drink. The 16 oz. can is black with a B&W picture on it showing Adam and Eve, but then this hot she devil comes in and messes things up. But that's okay because hot women on energy drink cans are the gold standard. The Eden symbolism is great for a cider drink because it subtly reinforces the apple theme of the drink. The hot woman is great because it's a hot woman.

Dickens Energy Cider is a light gold in color like SoBe No Fear Gold. In taste it has a vague similarity to some of the Red Bull clones, though it has a less carbonated feel to it. It also takes the base Red Bull flavor removes most of the gumminess and adds some spice to it that tastes like cloves or cinnamon. Also as the can art suggests there is more of a noticeable apple flavor. I like this much better than the typical Red Bull clones because the sourness lis less and you aren't overwhelmed with gumminess or any bitterness at all. In some ways it sort of has a root beer or sarsparilla flavor to it. It's very nice and vaults itself right up there into the upper echelons of energy drinks based on taste.

The ingredients aren't exceptional, but are solid. There's corn syrup, 1900 mg of taurine, glcuronolactone, caffeine, inositol, dextrose, B Vitamins, and horny goat weed extract. The horny goat weed is key, giving us another drink that offers sexual power. All in all this is a stellar drink that I will definitely grab again when I see it.
