- I'm reading Law at the University of Glasgow, just starting my final year. My subjects are the European Human Rights Project, International Criminal Law, International Law And Problems Of Contemporary World Order and of course, the dreaded Dissertation. You'll generally find me in the Law Workshop, the library, one of the unions, the gym floating around University Avenue/ Byres Road/ Ashton Lane, or in Jinty McGuinty's, official sponsor of the mighty GUMGFC!
Currently looking for a traineeship, either in Glasgow 2011 or London 2012.
Update 16/09/09: Only 4 contact hours on my timetable this, made up of 2 seminars, both on a Tuesday. Carlsberg don't make university timetables, but if they did they'd probably look alot like mine
TYRONE FOR SAM 2010!!!

Blood on the Risers
An Airborne Infantry marching song, this version is attributed to the US 82nd Airborne Division, although other units do have their own versions with lyric variations I believe;
He was just a rookie trooper and he surely shook with fright.
He checked off his equipment and made sure his pack was tight.
He had to sit and listen to those awful engines roar.
You ain't gonna jump no more.
Chorus:
Gory, gory, what a hell of way to die.
Gory, gory, what a hell of way to die.
Gory, gory, what a hell of way to die.
He ain't gonna jump no more.
"Is everybody happy?" cried the sergeant looking up.
Our hero feebly answered, "Yes", and then they stood him up.
He jumped into the icy blast, his static line unhooked.
And he ain't gonna jump no more.
He counted long, he counted loud, he waited for the shock.
He felt the wind, he felt the cold, he felt the awful drop.
The silk from his reserve spilled out and wrapped around his legs.
And he ain't gonna jump no more.
The risers swung around his neck, connectors cracked his dome.
Suspension lines were tied in knots around his skinny bones.
The canopy became his shroud, he hurtled to the ground.
And he ain't gonna jump no more.
The days he lived and loved and laughed kept running through his mind.
He thought about the girl back home, the one he left behind.
He thought about the medicos and wondered what they'd find.
And he ain't gonna jump no more.
The ambulance was on the spot, the jeeps were running wild.
The medics jumped and screamed with glee, rolled up their sleeves and smiled.
For it had been a week or more since last a 'chute had failed.
And he ain't gonna jump no more.
He hit the ground, the sound was "Splat," his blood went spurting high.
His comrades they were heard to say, "A helluva way to die."
He lay there rolling 'round in the welter of his gore.
And he ain't gonna jump no more.
There was blood upon the risers, there were brains upon the 'chute.
Intestines were a-dangling from his paratrooper suit.
He was a mess, they picked him up and poured him from his boots.
And he ain't gonna jump no more.0 Comments 209 days

TYRONE HAVE SAM!!!
Tyrone produced a barnstorming finish to beat Kerry 1-15 to 0-14 in Sunday's All-Ireland Football final and lift the Sam Maguire Trophy at Croke Park.
The teams traded points in the first half and Kerry led by one point, 0-8 to 0-7, at the interval.
Tommy McGuigan kicked the ball into the net for a goal a minute into the second half and Tyrone led by three points before Kerry fought back to lead.
The Red Hands scored five unanswered points to claim a four-point win.
Tyrone made three changes to their line-up prior to throw-in with Ryan Mellon starting instead of Ciaran Gourley and Martin Penrose included at the expense of Brian McGuigan.
As expected, Pascal McConnell played in goal in place of John Devine, whose father passed away on Saturday.
Stephen O'Neill, who recently returned to the panel, began the game on the substitutes' bench.
The teams exchanged scores throughout the first half and there was never more than a single point between the sides up to half-time.
McConnell made a fine save to deny Tommy Walsh a goal in the 23rd minute and two minutes later O'Neill was introduced as a replacement for the injured Colm McCullagh.
The half ended in unseemly style with Kieran Donaghy, Aidan O'Mahony and Darragh O'Se all being yellow-carded and then pushing and shoving on the touchline as the half-time whistle blew.
Kerry's one-point half-time lead quickly disappeared when McGuigan tapped the ball into the net seconds into the second period after the Kerry goalkeeper has saved substitute Kevin Hughes' initial effort.
A Ryan Mellon point extended Tyrone's lead to four points but Kerry fought back to level at 1-10 to 0-13 and then took the lead courtesy of Colm Cooper's 56th-minute point.
Cavanagh kicked a point to level the scores for the ninth time in the match and added another point to nudge Tyrone ahead.
O'Connell made another crucial save, this time denying substitute Darren O'Sullivan with four minutes remaining.
Hughes fisted wide when well placed before late points by Enda McGinley, Hughes and Colm Cavanagh secured victory for the Red Hands.
The excellent Sean Cavanagh, who was Tyrone's top scorer with five points and looked dangerous throughout, was named as man-of-the-match.

Hehe! Glad to hear it. The best men are those who are willing to back down or partially accepting to back down a little bit
I am just going to type up that reply to your email. So hope you appreciate that I am not studying legal theory to make sure I keep my promise hehe! Who am I kidding?! I would probably watch tv or something instead lol!
Legal theory was going well on Saturday however, nothing happened Sunday or Monday! So will seriously need to work my ass off this week to catch up. Katy and I are meeting up on Wednesday to discuss South Africa and recognition and redistribution - if we get round to reading the stuff! I really need a personal trainer because I'm useless at motivating myself

I just typed out a very nice long bebo email and the bloody thing cut out! So I will give you my luv for the day and attempt to recapture the humour and interest of the original message tomorrow as I'm pretty tired after my small 4hour shift at Next today hehe! I hope you can forgive me

Natasha30 weeks agoThere is a soft top?! Ok that will be my new dream car. Not that I will have much use for it in Scotland however, perhaps I will have a top job somewhere hot and sunny haha! You can only dream right?
Well I took one of the girls from our year to see QOS, she hadn't seen Casino Royale, and she fell asleep during it despite the constant action throughout! Another reason why I was really disappointed with the film was because I had been looking forward to seeing Mathieu Amalric play the worthy adversary as he was brilliant in the french film 'The Diving Bell and the Butterfly'. He was barely in it! I knew it was too good to be true after Casino Royale. It was the same with Goldeneye for me - every film after that wasn't quite up to the same standard (although I was obsessed at one point with the Madonna theme for Die Another Day lol).
I've ran out of space so will send private message with the rest lol
see you later!

Natasha31 weeks agoHey Micheal!
Did you have a nice holiday? Just doing a bit of bebo stalking on your page. Glad to see that someone else appreciates the beauty of the Bugatti Veryon lol! I've vowed that I will own one of those if:
a) I get a really well paid job after uni and can still afford a big house and nice clothes
or
(and far more likely)
b) I win the lottery
Good choice of skin too, although pity Daniel Craig couldn't bring the same spark to QOS as he did to Casino Royale
Missing old Pierce Brosnan already...mind you Timothy Dalton was pretty hot in The Living Daylights lol!
Are you going to this revision class on Tuesday? What are we meant to do for it btw? I thought they had said they would give us a question to attempt or a few and then go over it....or was that one of my other classes?
