Welcome to Irish Runner on BEBO ........

Irish Runner magazine was first published in 1981 and has continued to grow since then .It has been in print now for the last 27 years and covers every aspect of running in Ireland today .

I first started running in my hometown of Ballyhaunis, county Mayo in the late 1960s. I made the Irish senior cross country team in 1972 and I still hold the Irish junior 10,000 metres track record of 30 minutes 17 seconds- set in Santry Stadium in 1970.

I attended East Tennessee State University on an athletic scholarship from 1972 to 1976. I am married to Marian and we have five children- Tomas, Catherine, Conor, Laura and Claire.
